The genre of psychological thrillers is seeing a lot of improvement in the world of Korean dramas. Over the past year alone, there has been a wide range of shows that have released with psychological themes, surrounding mental health struggles.
The latest TV Chosun drama, starring Jang Na-ra and Son Ho-jun in the lead roles, narrates the story of Seo Jae-won, a woman who lives a seemingly normal life but is haunted by demons of her past.
Now that the show has aired completely, you may be wondering if My Happy Ending has been renewed or cancelled. Well, wonder no more! Here’s what we know about a renewal:
What is My Happy Ending Season 1 about?
The show narrates the story of Seo Jae-won, a woman with a near-perfect personal and work life. Not only is she the CEO of a successful furniture company, but she is also a social media influencer who recruits Yoon Teo as the design manager for her company.
Seo Jae-won is married to Heo Soon-young and they have a child together. Jae-won’s college classmate Kwon Yoon-jin graduated from the same university art department as her but is experiencing a difficult personal life – quite contrasting to that of Jae-won.
Yoon-jin is dealing with a breakup as well as a failing career. After reconnecting with Jae-won, she becomes jealous of her near-perfect life. Surprisingly enough, Jae-won’s life soon changes as she is betrayed by people whom she trusts.

Has My Happy Ending been renewed for Season 2?
At the time of writing, TV Chosin has not renewed My Happy Ending for Season 2. Given the ratings over the weeks, it is very unlikely for the show to be renewed for a follow-up season.
The show has a 6.9 out of 10 average rating on IMDb as well as a 7.9 out of 10 average rating on MyDramaList. The highest-rated episode of the show was Episode 8 with an average nationwide rating of 2.9%.
Given that most Korean dramas only run for a single season, it will be surprising to see this show being renewed for a follow-up season. With all these things considered, My Happy Ending will not be renewed for Season 2.

What we know about My Happy Ending Season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about Season 2 right now. Given most Korean dramas are reserved for one season, it’s rare to find these sorts of shows renewed. Except for ongoing Netflix shows (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist etc.), it seems unlikely that this one will be renewed.
With all loose ends tied in the season finale, there is very limited scope for the show to be expanded further. If the makers were to renew the show for a follow-up season, we could see Jae-won’s romantic journey with Tae-oh. However, that does seem very unlikely to happen.
Additionally, the show hasn’t been receiving great ratings which makes it unlikely that this one to be getting renewed for a new season. We’ll still be sure to update this section when we know more.
