It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia follows Dennis, Mac, Charlie, Dee, and Frank, as they engage in various narcissistic and questionable schemes from their Irish pub in Philadelphia.
The show is well-known for its dark humour, biting satire, and laugh-out-loud scenarios featuring the gang doing crazy and sometimes despicable things during each episode.

Has It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia been renewed for Season 17?
At the time of writing, it would appear that It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia has been renewed for a seventeenth season. While no release date has been announced at the time of writing, we expect the new season will air sometime in 2025, as there was a two-year gap between season’s 15 and 16.
Generally, Netflix and Hulu, like other streaming services, gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate.
With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton etc.) Other times, it can take months before Netflix and Hulu make a decision over a show’s future.
Season 16 had a mixed reaction from critics, including ourselves, due to the lack of originality in the latest run of episodes. But this hasn’t deterred the showrunners from pressing ahead with a new season, so here’s hoping Season 17 is a return to form for the show.

Barely anything is known about season 17 at this point but you can expect the show to continue in its quest to push the boundaries of taste. We expect all of the main cast members will return for the show and there should be room for fan-favourite characters like Cricket, Waitress, and the McPoyle’s too.
