Renewed Or Cancelled?
When it comes to anime, fans know that it can take years to get a sequel. So of course, everyone was ecstatic when Bungo Stray Dogs was announced to get a season 4, 3 years after the cliffhanger of season 3. We not only got all of our favourite characters back but more as the anime delighted us with a little back story into the creation of the Armed Detectives Agency.
The rest of the season has been pretty exciting as well, finally getting to meet some beloved manga characters that were beautifully animated for this season such as Oguri, Sigma and Gogol.
After watching season 4, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is Bungo Stray Dogs season 4 about?
Bungo Stray Dogs season 4 is split into two parts with the first part focusing on the origin story of the Armed Detectives Agency. After feeling guilty for his part in the great war, Fukuzawa becomes a lone wolf, solving crimes alone till one day a kid tags along with him. While he cannot shake him off at first, Fukuzawa becomes fond of the boy who turns out to be none other than Ranpo, our non-gifted gifted Detective.
Back in the present time, the anime moves on to the Hunting Dogs arc as the Detectives are framed as terrorists by a deadly organisation, The Decay of the Angels. As the Hunting Dogs relentlessly pursue them, the Detectives are forced to split up and figure out a way to clear their name.

Has Bungo Stray Dogs been renewed for season 5?
At the time of writing, Bungo Stray Dogs has been renewed for a fifth season.
On the day of the season 4 finale, the studio announced that they are working on the production of season 5 and have given a release date of 12th July 2023.
Bungo Stray Dogs began life back in 2016 and following the third season (which was in 2019), the anime took a 3-year hiatus before returning for a fourth season. In between that time, there was no update for fans to look forward to. So, fans are now lucky to get an announcement and a premiere month for the fifth season so soon.
What we know about season 5 so far:
Since a manga has several storylines broken up into different arcs, the animated adaptation usually takes on 1 or 2 arcs. Season 4 had 3 arcs and now the remaining ones that are left are the Kamui Revelation arc and the Vampire Infection Outbreak arc. Season 5 will first of all finish off the Sky Casino Arc since season 4 ended on a cliffhanger right before the final fight. Following that, season 5 will then probably focus on Kamui Revelation and/or the Vampire Infection arc.
What we do know is that since season 2, all of the arcs are somehow linked to the Decay of the Angels. If you are a sucker for spoilers, you can probably read the manga to find out exactly what these arcs are about!
