Night Has Come – K-Drama Episode 10 Recap & Review

 The Death of The Police

Night Has Come episode 10 picks up where we left off, with Na-hee revealing she is the police and So-mi is a mafia. She asks So-mi to take responsibility and admit the truth. Mi-na quickly starts apologising, saying So-mi tricked her. Na-hee refuses to accept this apology while So-mi tries to defend herself.

Eun-chan lashes out, blaming her for each murder after Woo-ram died. The students demand answers and So-mi says she had no choice. The game turned her into a mafia, and she didn’t choose to kill anyone. She had to survive at all costs, and the students question if they were collateral damage.

So-mi insists she didn’t kill anyone and begs for mercy, but none is shown to her. She asks Jun-hee to help her, but he turns her away. Yoon-seo also says that So-mi had this coming and refuses to help. The students start voting for So-mi, and she attempts to name the other mafias. Unfortunately, she starts bleeding from her mouth, and the announcer warns her against revealing the mafias’ identity. In the end, everyone votes for So-mi and leaves her to die as they run to hide.

Soon, night comes, and Da-bum and the other mafia get busy. Obviously, their next target is Na-hee, the police. However, she has a plan and recruits Jun-hee’s help. She apologises for not acting fast enough to save the rest but lays a trap for the mafia. She hopes it will help Jun-hee and the rest discover the remaining mafias and protect themselves. The only person she can trust is Jun-hee, as she knows he is not a mafia. We are still curious about Jun-hee’s identity.

The following day, Na-hee’s death is announced, and the students worry about what to do next. Without the police, they are doomed. They agree that they need to find out what happened to Se-eun and why she died. In a flashback, we see that Jun-hee tried to save Se-eun but it was too late. By the time he reached her, she had already jumped into the water, and he had a panic attack as she couldn’t swim to her. Jun-hee loses it and breaks down as he feels he failed her like he failed Se-eun.

As the students ponder what to do, Jung-won notes that Mi-na and Da-bum are nowhere in sight. They start to question if they are planning something and if they are the mafias. Eun-chan is particularly suspicious of Mi-na. As they talk, Jun-hee says he has evidence regarding who killed Na-hee.

It turns out he and Na-hee used a trick to find out about the mafia. He even shows the students the video he took with Na-hee as they set the trap. They mixed air freshener with neon paint and by using a UV light, they can find out the identity of the mafia. They start checking their shoes, and Mi-na’s shoe is found to have blood spots on it.

She begs and pleads that she is innocent, but Jun-hee is determined to end her. He suggests they vote her out immediately, but Yoon-seo stops him. Yoon-seo is unconvinced that Mi-na is the mafia and asks the others to calm down. Yoon-seo argues that the paint on Mi-na’s shoe is too minimal. If she killed Na-hee, there should be more. She hangs back with Jung-won and investigates the scene.

Surprisingly, Jung-won finds the exact location where Na-hee hid and spots blood. They deduce that the mafia was hurt while killing Na-hee. Yoon-seo informs Jun-hee and comforts him, promising they will find Na-hee’s killer. Jun-hee is evidently frustrated and says he is sick of seeing his friends die. He is tired of the game and wants to go home.

Elsewhere, Mi-na tries to bribe Yeon-woo and Eun-chan with food, but they ignore her. She begs them to save her, and they kick her out of their room. She runs into Jung-won, who informs her about the mafia being hurt. Mi-na shows Jung-won that she has no wounds on her body and claims they should be friends. She even gives Jung-won the cafeteria keys.

Jung-won returns to Jun-hee and Yoon-seo and informs them that Mi-na has no wounds. The three agree that the mafia has been playing games with them. Yoon-seo suggests they set a trap, and Jun-hee texts everyone that he has found a video camera that Na-hee hid before dying. He informs everyone that he is charging the device and they should meet in thirty minutes. Upon reading the message, Da-bum is shaken.

He finds Yoon-seo and asks where the camera is. She tells him it is charging in the cafeteria and intentionally leaves. Jung-won watches Mi-na since she is suspicious of her, too. They run into Eun-chan in the hallway, who informs them that Eun-chan went to the dispensary, claiming he is in pain. Mi-na points out that when she hit Yeon-woo earlier, he recoiled as if in pain.

They quickly rush to the dispensary and find Yeon-woo nursing a wound on his chest. They immediately suspect he got hurt while killing Na-hee. Mi-na starts dragging him towards the cafeteria as he pleads his innocence.

Concurrently, Yoon-seo and Jun-hee bust Da-bum, anxiously checking the video camera in the cafeteria.

The Episode Review

As predicted, Na-hee was the next target on the mafias’ list. She tried to help the others find the mafia, but it was too late. She should have done more; maybe she could have saved more lives. In the end, the deal is done, and now it remains to be seen if Da-bum and Jung-won will successfully frame Yeon-woo.

We gotta admit that Da-bum is a slick one. He has survived because he has been low-key playing the role of a victim bully. He might slip this time, too. On the other hand, we can’t believe Jung-won has come this far without anyone suspecting her. She is the most dangerous, like a snake waiting in the grass. You never see her until it is too late, and the venom is flowing into your veins.
