Spaceman (2024)
Release Date: March 1
Spaceman, based on the novel ‘Spaceman of Bohemia’ by Czech author Jaroslav Kalfař, sees Adam Sandler take on the role of an astronaut named Jakub who, after jetting off on a mission into outer space, meets and befriends an ancient alien creature that is hiding in the bowels of his ship.
Paul Dano voices the alien and Carey Mulligan stars as Jakub’s wife in a Netflix Original that appears to be more thoughtful and dramatic than some of Sandler’s more frivolous movies for the streaming service.
The Gentlemen – Season 1
Release Date: March 7
If the title’s familiar to you, that’s because this forthcoming series is an adaptation of the 2019 Guy Ritchie film of the same name. The show stars Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Vinnie Jones, and a cast of other familiar names in an 8-episode run that follows Eddie Halstead (James), a young man who gets involved with the criminal underworld after inheriting his father’s sizeable estate.
Damsel (2024)
Release Date: March 8
Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) directs this new movie that sees Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown experience another kind of Upside Down in a fantasy tale that flips the traditional fairy tale formula on its head with its story of a handsome prince who sacrifices a princess to a dragon instead of rescuing her from the fire-breathing beast.
This princess is no ‘damsel in distress,’ however, as she relies on her skills and wits to survive this fearsome monster.
3 Body Problem – Season 1
Release Date: March 21
Adapted from the debut book of the “Remembrance of Earth’s Past” novel series, a bestselling sci-fi trilogy from Chinese author Cixin Liu, this new series portrays a fictional past, present and future wherein Earth encounters an alien civilization from a nearby system of three suns orbiting one another.
Netflix’s official logline of this visually impressive drama reads:
“A young woman’s fateful decision in 1960s China reverberates across space and time to a group of brilliant scientists in the present day. As the laws of nature unravel before their eyes, five former colleagues reunite to confront the greatest threat in humanity’s history.”
Gray – Season 1
Release Date: March 15
Thriller series starring Patricia Clarkson as Cornelia Gray, a CIA agent who comes in from the cold after 20 years in hiding, while dodging the government agents who suspected her of being a traitor.
The Wages of Fear (2024)
Release Date: March 29
This re-imagining of the incredibly tense 1953 movie of the same name tells the nail-biting story of an illicit crack team who are hired to drive two truckloads of nitroglycerine across a desert laden with danger. One wrong move could see them all go up in flames so the heat is on for this brave and determined crew.
