Stars On Mars – Season 1

William Shatner is the host of this new reality series that gives 12 celebs the task of colonizing Mars. They haven’t really been beamed up to the Red Planet, of course, but here’s hoping the show gives them a taste of what life might genuinely be like in outer space. Cycling champion Lance Armstrong, football player Richard Sherman, Modern Family star Ariel Winter, and Superbad actor Christopher Mintz-Plasse are among the celebrities taking part.

June 7

Somewhere Boy – Season 1

This powerful British drama series stars Lewis Gribben (T2: Trainspotting) as a young man named Danny who spent his entire childhood isolated from the outside world. When his father dies, he discovers the world isn’t full of monsters (as his father had told him) when he leaves the house he had grown up in to go and live with his aunt and her family. Samuel Bottomley (The Teacher) takes on the role of Aaron, Danny’s cousin, who reluctantly tries to help his troubled relative integrate into society.

June 8

The Amazing Maurice (2022)

This animated movie, which is based on Terry Pratchett’s ‘The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents,’ features an all-star voice cast including Hugh Laurie, Emilia Clarke, Himesh Patel, David Thewlis and Gemma Arterton. It tells the story of Maurice, a goofy streetwise cat, and his gang of talking rats who join forces with a young lad named Keith for a profitable moneymaking scheme. All goes well until they journey to the town of Bad Blintz and discover something sinister is going on beneath the city’s streets.

June 9

Flamin’ Hot (2023)

Flamin’ Hot tells the story of Richard Montañez, the Frito Lay janitor who came up with the idea of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, the snack that became an iconic global pop-culture phenomenon. Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives) directs this inspirational true-story drama with Ambulance star Jesse Garcia in the lead role.

June 10

Dune (2021)

Dune is one of the biggest science-fiction movies of recent years although those expecting Star Wars-level thrills might be disappointed. This isn’t to say it’s not worth a watch as visually, the film is absolutely stunning. The story is good too although newcomers to the Duniverse might find it a little complicated and as dry as the desert setting of Arrakis. A sequel is on the way at the end of this year.

June 14

The Full Monty – Season 1

Here’s a sequel nobody was expecting! The Full Monty is a follow-on to the successful 1997 British movie about six unemployed steelworkers who formed a male striptease act. 25-years later, we catch up with the gang who bared all for another slice-of-life comedy.

June 15

Jagged Mind (2023)

Not a lot is known about this unusual new horror-thriller at the time of writing but we do know it focuses on a young woman named Billie (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) who is stuck in a series of time loops that may be related to her mysterious new girlfriend. Perhaps she needs to rethink her relationship plans!

June 16

Chevalier (2022)

Kelvin Harrison Jr. (Luce) and Samara Weaving (Ready Or Not) star in this true-story drama about composer Joseph Bologne, the illegitimate son of an African slave and French plantation owner, who rose to the height of French society and had an ill-fated love affair with Marie Antoinette.

Maybe I Do (2023)

When Michelle (Emma Roberts) and Allen (Luke Bracey) decide to get married, they invite their respective parents to meet one another. But as it turns out, their parents have already met and know one another intimately! Years after starring in Looking For Mr. Goodbar together, Diane Keaton and Richard Gere reunite for this undemanding but occasionally amusing romantic comedy.

June 23

Infinity Pool (2023)

Brandon Cronenberg (Possessor) directs this disturbing new horror thriller about a young couple whose lives take a downward plunge when they discover a hedonistic culture outside of the holiday resort where they are staying. Alexander Skarsgård, Mia Goth, and Cleopatra Coleman star in this movie that will make you rethink your vacation plans!

June 25

Barbarian (2022)

When two people double-book an Airbnb, they decide to share their accommodation, despite the inconvenience it will cause them. Unfortunately, they have more to worry about than one another’s sleeping habits as they soon discover they aren’t the only residents of the house they are staying in. Georgina Campbell (All My Friends Hate Me) and Bill Skarsgård star in this entertaining horror that throws up several surprises during its runtime.

June 30

Burial (2022)

Harriet Walter (Silo) and Tom Felton (Save The Cinema) star in this wartime thriller about a group of Russian soldiers who are tasked with taking Hitler’s recovered remains back to Stalin in Moscow.

Linoleum (2022)

Jim Gaffigan stars in this comedy-drama as a failed TV show host who tries to fulfil his childhood dream of being an astronaut by building a rocket ship in his garage.
