The new season of Doctor Who is the biggest highlight on Disney+ this month but there is much more to enjoy, including Star Wars: The Last Empire and a new documentary about legendary muppet creator, Jim Henson.

Star Wars: Tales of the Empire – Season 1
Release Date: May 4
A new six-part animated series set in that galaxy far, far away!
Here’s the official synopsis:
“Journey into the fearsome Galactic Empire through the eyes of two warriors on divergent paths, set during different eras. After losing everything, young Morgan Elsbeth navigates the expanding Imperial world toward a path of vengeance, while former Jedi Barriss Offee does what she must to survive a rapidly changing galaxy. Let It Be
Release Date: May 8
For years, Beatles fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the long-unavailable Beatles documentary, Let It Be, have been told to let it go! The 1970 film has been denied broadcast or public screenings for over 50 years and the only copies available are on laserdisc and VHS.
However, it’s good news for fans of the band as Let It Be is coming to Disney+ on this date so you will no longer have to board a yellow submarine to search for discarded copies of the doc.
Doctor Who – Season Premiere
Release Date: May 10
A new Doctor, a new companion, and a revamped Tardis are set to grace our screens when the next season of the regenerated show lands this month.Â
Two episodes land on Disney’s streaming service on this date – Space Babies and The Devil’s Chord. The schedule for the rest of May is as follows:

The Beach Boys
Release Date: May 24
The Beatles aren’t the only band to get a documentary on Disney+ in May. The Beach Boys are surfing onto the platform too with this celebration of the legendary band that created the iconic, harmonious sound that personified the California dream.
Jim Henson Idea Man
Release Date: May 31
The life and career of The Muppets creator Jim Henson is under the spotlight in this new documentary that follows his journey from his early years puppeteering on local television to the worldwide success he achieved in later years with such shows as Sesame Street and The Muppet Show.
