When compared to other streaming services, Apple TV+ doesn’t release a great many titles on a month-by-month basis. That being said, the streamer does favour quality over quantity, so while January’s schedule isn’t inundated with new releases, you might be more than satisfied with the new and continuing content on Apple’s platform.

Criminal Record – Season 1
Release Date: January 10
Here’s a series for all you crime show lovers to sink your teeth into as the year begins. Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who) and Cush Jumbo (The Good Fight) star in this London-set thriller that (according to the press release) touches on “issues of race, institutional failure and the quest to find common ground in a polarised Britain.”
After the first two episodes debut on this date, the series will continue with new episodes every Friday until February 23, 2024.
In terms of plotline, the rest of the synopsis is as follows:
“An anonymous phone call draws two brilliant detectives into a confrontation over an old murder case — one a young woman in the early stages of her career, the other a well-connected man determined to protect his legacy.”
Masters of the Air – Limited Series
Release Date: January 26
From executive producers Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, and Gary Goetzman (who all previously collaborated on Band of Brothers), comes this highly anticipated WWII drama based on the book of the same name by Donald L. Miller.
With a cast including Austin Butler (Elvis), Ncuti Gatwa (Doctor Who), Barry Keoghan (Saltburn), and Callum Turner (Fantastic Beasts), we’re expecting this one to score (and soar) quite highly when the reviews for the series finally come in.
After the first two episodes land on this date, the series will continue with further episodes every Friday through to March 15, 2024.
Here’s the official synopsis from the series’ press release:
” “Masters of the Air” follows the men of the 100th Bomb Group (the “Bloody Hundredth”) as they conduct perilous bombing raids over Nazi Germany and grapple with the frigid conditions, lack of oxygen and sheer terror of combat conducted at 25,000 feet in the air. Portraying the psychological and emotional price paid by these young men as they helped destroy the horror of Hitler’s Third Reich, is at the heart of “Masters of the Air.” Some were shot down and captured; some were wounded or killed. And some were lucky enough to make it home. Regardless of individual fate, a toll was exacted on them all.
Ranging in location from the bucolic fields and villages of southeast England, to the harsh deprivations of a German prisoner-of-war camp, and depicting a unique and crucial time in world history, “Masters of the Air” is enormous in both scale and scope, and a genuine cinematic achievement. ”
