When compared to other streaming services, Apple TV+ doesn’t release a great many titles on a month-by-month basis. That being said, the streamer does favour quality over quantity, so while December’s schedule isn’t inundated with new releases, there may be enough here to justify a subscription.

Slow Horses – Season 3

This highly-rated British thriller series, adapted from the Slough House book series by Mick Herron, is back for a third season. Gary Oldman returns as MI5 boss Jackson Lamb who is once again tasked with leading his team of dysfunctional agents on another dangerous mission. New episodes will arrive weekly.

Spirited (2022)
Release Date: December 1
The Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell comedy movie, which debuted on Apple TV+ in November 2022, is getting a re-release in cinemas and on Apple’s streaming service with this sing-a-long version.
If you need a reminder of the movie’s plotline, here’s the synopsis:
“Each Christmas Eve, the Ghost of Christmas Present (Will Ferrell) selects one dark soul to be reformed by a visit from three spirits. But this season, he picked the wrong Scrooge. Clint Briggs (Ryan Reynolds) turns the tables on his ghostly host until Present finds himself reexamining his own past, present and future. For the first time, “A Christmas Carol” is told from the perspective of the ghosts in this hilarious musical twist on the classic Dickens tale.” (source)
The Snoopy Show: Happiness is Holiday Traditions

According to the synopsis for this festive special featuring the iconic dog and his diminutive friend, Snoopy searches for the perfect tree topper, Woodstock gets trapped in a window display, and the two of them visit Spike for Christmas.
Frog and Toad: Christmas Eve
Release Date: December 1
In this Christmas episode of the Apple TV+ series Frog and Toad, based on the illustrated book series by Arnold Lobel, the two friends’ plan of spending the winter holiday together is upended when a last-minute errand into town sidetracks Frog. Will he make it back to Toad in time?
Shape Island: The Winter Blues
Release Date: December 1
The acclaimed stop-motion animated series is back for this all-new holiday special. According to the synopsis, the chilly season is causing Square to feel sad so Circle and Triangle try to cheer him up by creating a new holiday: Yeti Night.
The Family Plan (2023)
Release Date: December 15
In this new action-comedy, Mark Wahlberg stars as a former assassin living incognito as a suburban dad. But when his past catches up with him, he must go on the run with his family in tow! Michelle Monaghan, Ciaran Hinds, and Maggie Q also star in this movie from director Simon Cellan Jones (The Diplomat).
Sago Mini Friends: New Year’s Steve
Release Date: December 22
Harvey the dog, Jinja the cat, Jack the rabbit and Robin the bird are back for this holiday special in which the crew embark on a scavenger hunt.
The series focuses on gratitude and friendship so is just the thing to show to the younger members of your family if all they’re thinking about is the presents they’ll receive this holiday season.
