Life by You (Early Access)

Platforms: PC

Life by You has been described as the biggest life sim ever made by the game’s director, Rod Humble. He previously worked on The Sims so he certainly has past form when it comes to creating games that replicate real-world situations.

The game certainly looks intriguing with its world-building mechanics and life-sim possibilities. But will it be as revolutionary as the original Sims game? All will be revealed in June when Life by You hits early access.

Synopsis:

“Open up a new world of creative possibilities in Life by You. Be in total control of the humans that you create, the towns that you build, the stories that you tell.

And oh yes – mods! We know life is always better with a heavy sprinkle of your imagination, so we’re empowering you with a wide variety of Creator Tools so you can design your lives the way you see fit – or break the rules of life itself.

Designed to be one of the most moddable and open life-simulation games, we look forward to the humans, stories, and creations that you’ll make with Life by You.” (source)

Star Wars Hunters

Platforms: Mobile, Switch

The world isn’t short of Star Wars games but very few of them are free to play. Somebody has clearly used their Jedi powers to ensure this game is free, however, so if you’re looking for another adventure set in that galaxy far, far away, you might want to download this team-based multiplayer shooter when it arrives in June.

Synopsis:

“Join the greatest Hunters from across the Star Wars™ galaxy on the planet of Vespaara where high-stakes competitions are awaiting them in the Arena.

Engage in thrilling third-person combat to dominate your opponents in a range of adventurous battlegrounds that evoke iconic Star Wars worlds. Mix and match teams, use skill, tactics and customize your Hunters to find a winning strategy and reap the spoils of victory in the all-new free-to-play game.” (source)

Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game

Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X

Killer Klowns From Outer Space was a super-silly sci-fi comedy that was released way back in 1988. It’s not widely talked about today which is why this upcoming video game comes as a bit of a surprise.

This isn’t to say the game won’t be any good, of course. It’s an asymmetrical shooter with Klowns vs humans team-based battles. Judging by the trailer, it’s as zany as you might expect, so if you’re looking for a fun new multiplayer title, this might be a game that puts a smile on your face.

Synopsis:

Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game is an asymmetrical multiplayer horror based on the iconic ‘80s film. In the battle between Killer Klowns and citizens of Crescent Cove, team up and use your wits to harvest humans or save them from the alien invasion!

Crescent Cove is a sprawling arena for these unique multiplier fights between Klowns and humans – boasting various locations, and various tactical opportunities for both teams. Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game provides a unique approach to hide-and-seek gameplay, customization, PvPvE, and dynamic objectives leading to multiple match results. This game evolves the online horror formula in new ways.

Take on the role of the iconic Killer Klowns – cooperate in a team of three players, utilize unworldly abilities, hunt humans with zany weapons, and plan your alien invasion to harvest the population of Crescent Cove successfully.

Fight back as a team of seven brave citizens of Crescent Cove – explore the city for valuable loot and weapons, avoid getting captured by Klowns, and try to survive the alien invasion. (source)

Still Wakes the Deep

Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series S/X

From the creator of such critically acclaimed games as Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture comes this narrative-based first-person survival horror game set on an oil rig in the North Sea. It’s you vs the elements (and possibly something else besides) in what looks set to be one of the more unique titles to hit PC and consoles in June.

Synopsis:

“You are an off-shore oil rig worker, fighting for your life through a vicious storm, perilous surroundings, and the dark, freezing North Sea waters. All lines of communication have been severed. All exits are gone. All that remains is to face the unknowable horror that’s come aboard.

Search for your crew and help them survive if you can. Run, climb, and swim through the flooding corridors and storm-lashed outer decks. Face a terrifying, unrelenting foe. And pray that, one day, you get to see your family again.” (source)

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble

Platforms: Switch

Let’s get ready to rumble…again! This new Super Monkey Ball title retains the addictive gameplay of previous games in the franchise but with a focus on competitive and cooperative multiplayer. You can play this game online or with friends sitting beside you on the sofa, so you don’t have to experience the craziness of the game’s winding levels alone.

Synopsis:

“Join AiAi and friends in Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, where you and up to 16 players can compete online across multiple game modes as you aim to become Top Banana!

You can also work together with your favourite bunch in 4-player cooperative mode, or slip into a wonderfully crafted story in the all-new Adventure Mode experience!”(source)

Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD

Platforms: Switch

If there’s something strange in your neighbourhood, who are you gonna call? Luigi, of course!

Luigi Mansion 2 HD is a visually enhanced remake of the Nintendo 3DS game Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon that was released in 2013. The opportunity to play this game again but with much better graphics is a welcome one, so here’s hoping it lives up to the classic status of the earlier title.

Synopsis:

“In this visually enhanced adventure, you’ll visit the chilling locales of the eerie Evershade Valley, a place where until recently, the peculiar Dark Moon hung in the sky. According to ghost researcher Professor E.Gadd, it pacified the ghosts of the valley…that is until one night when the Dark Moon mysteriously shattered!

Now, the place is screaming and teeming with troublemaking ghosts! Can Luigi recover the missing pieces of the Dark Moon and restore peace to the valley?”(source)
