Sound of Freedom 2
The sleeper hit of 2023 was undoubtedly Sound of Freedom, starring Jim Caviezel, Mira Sorvino and Bill Camp. It wrapped filming quite a few years ago then struggled to get released, but when it did, it surprised everyone and took the box office by storm. But will there be a Sound of Freedom 2? Or do we have to settle for this one being a one-off thriller? Here’s what we know at the time of writing:
What is Sound of Freedom about?
The movie tells the true story of former government agent Tim Ballard who turns vigilante in a dangerous mission to rescue hundreds of children from traffickers.
Will there be a sequel to Sound of Freedom?
No, Sound of Freedom 2 won’t happen for a very straightforward reason: the story has already been told. The original film was regarded as an entirely self-contained, stand-alone narrative. Based on a true story, the movie tied up all the loose ends of Tim Ballard’s story, leaving no room for a sequel.
What could Sound of Freedom 2 be about?
Despite a sequel being very unlikely, anything is possible in Hollywood, and they could be keen to find a story to tell for a sequel as it made so much money at the box office. There are plenty more horrific stories of child trafficking that could be told, and this would likely be the direction a sequel would take if it was ever greenlit.
When could a sequel be released?
The sequel would have at least been discussed if it were in the works. However, since there is currently no information regarding Sound of Freedom 2, it is best to avoid getting your hopes up, as the likelihood of one is extremely low.
