Dog Day Afternoon 2

Dog Day Afternoon is a 1975 classic, directed by legendary auteur Sidney Lument and starring Al Pacino, John Cazale and Charles Durning. It was based on the Life magazine article “The Boys in the Bank” by P. F Kluge and Thomas Moore. It’s considered one of the best movies ever made, and is one of Al Pacino’s very best performances. But will there be a Dog Day Afternoon 2? Or do we have to settle for this one being a one-off crime drama movie? Here’s what we know at the time of writing:

What is Dog Day Afternoon about?

Three inexperienced bank robbers hold up a bank. It’s supposed to be a nice simple robbery, but the heist suddenly becomes a strange nightmare when everything that could go wrong does.

Will there be a sequel to Dog Day Afternoon?

No, Dog Day Afternoon 2 won’t happen for a very straightforward reason: the story has already been told. The original film was regarded as an entirely self-contained, stand-alone narrative that was based on a true story. If anything, there’s a greater possibility of a remake than a sequel, although there are currently no talks of either.

What could Dog Day Afternoon 2 be about?

Despite a sequel being very unlikely, it would likely follow another bank robbery, but it would be a mistake to do a sequel to this ’70s classic. A remake, however, could potentially provide another version of the real-life events.

When could a sequel be released?

The sequel would have at least been discussed if it were in the works. However, since there is currently no information regarding Dog Day Afternoon 2, it is best to avoid getting your hopes up, as the likelihood of one is extremely low.

Of course, this is all speculation, and if anything changes, we’ll be sure to update you!
