The Breakfast Club 2
John Hughes was one of the biggest director’s of the ’80s, and arguably his best movie in that decade was The Breakfast Club, starring a slew of upcoming actors including Judd Nelson, Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall and Ally Sheedy. They were collectively known as the Brat Pack, along with a few other actors who were coming through at the same time.
But will there be an The Breakfast Club 2? Or do we have to settle for this one being a one-off coming-of-age movie? Here’s what we know at the time of writing:
What is The Breakfast Club about?
The Breakfast Club tells the story of five teenagers from different friendship groups, who are summoned to a weekend detention for various different reasons. By the end of the day, they end up bonding with each other as they try to get away from the watchful eye of their vice principal.
Will there be a sequel to The Breakfast Club?
No, The Breakfast Club 2 won’t happen for a very straightforward reason: the story has already been told. The original film was regarded as an entirely self-contained, stand-alone narrative.
What could The Breakfast Club 2 be about?
Despite a sequel being very unlikely, as all the principal cast has grown much older since the film came out nearly 40 years ago. However, a sequel could work with a new cast of upcoming actors, with their characters being linked to the original cast.
When could The Breakfast Club 2 be released?
The sequel would have at least been discussed if it were in the works. However, since there is currently no information regarding The Breakfast Club 2, it is best to avoid getting your hopes up, as the likelihood of one is extremely low.
