Currently streaming on Hulu and Disney+ is Suncoast, a semi-autobiographical film based on the experiences of its director, Laura Chinn.
Suncoast is a morally complicated tale that may resonate with a lot of viewers, as it deals with themes of death, grief, and coming to terms with one’s own decision-making.

But will there be a Suncoast 2? Here’s what we know:
What is Suncoast about?
Suncoast tells the story of Doris (Nico Parker), a teenage girl whose brother is terminally ill. When he is admitted into Suncoast Hospital for end-of-life care, she finally gets the opportunity to live life to the full, which is something she was previously unable to do due to her taking up caring duties for her brother.

Will there be a Suncoast 2?
At the time of writing, a sequel to Suncoast has not been announced. This is of no surprise as there is no need for a sequel, considering the way the first movie wraps up Doris’s story and her involvement with the Suncoast Hospital.
Should the movie’s director, Laura Chinn, decide there is more of her own story to tell on film, there may be a sequel or a stand-alone movie that covers a different aspect of her life. But for now, you shouldn’t expect a sequel to be announced anytime soon.
What could happen in Suncoast 2?
If a sequel were to be released, it would likely follow Doris’s life after high school. As the first movie was based on Laura Chinn’s experiences as a teenager, the second movie would likely follow her life as an adult.
At the time of writing, we can only speculate as a sequel doesn’t seem to be in the works. But if we do hear news of a follow-up movie, we will update this article with all the details you need to know.
