Episode 5 kicks off with Helena taking Darius aside to spill the beans about Hanne’s affair but to her surprise, Darius already knows and still wants to marry her. Helena’s shocked but tries to hide her feelings, ending up kissing Darius. She quickly apologizes and heads back to the party, this time with a smile on her face.

What happens to Darius and Hanne’s relationship? 

Hanne finds Darius skipping stones by the water and asks how he’s doing. Darius finally decides to confront Hanne about her cheating on him. He admits to seeing her with another man and asks her why she did it.

Hanne tries to explain, saying she was confused and scared. She confesses her love for Darius again, but this time, he doesn’t respond and walks away. It seems like Darius might call off the marriage, but instead, he surprises everyone.

He decides to move forward and marries Hanne that very evening, with Lysander officiating the ceremony. Hanne also apologizes for her actions and promises to be loyal from then on.

How does Midsummer Night end?

After Carina’s words touch his heart, Johannes returns to the party and apologizes to Sara and Hakan for his harsh words, admitting that he was wrong and out of line. Hakan and Sara are understanding and don’t hold grudges, voicing their happiness to be part of the midsummer party.

Robert also confesses to Helena that he has been in love with her since their first meeting at the job interview. He tells her that he’s tried many times to convey his feelings but never found the courage. He even has a complete love confession sitting in his draft but never pressed send.

However, inspired by Helena’s words, he decides to send it to her. Helena reads it with a smile on her face. As night falls, Johannes lights a bonfire, and Carina tells him that even though they are no longer married, she will always love him. Johannes responds with the same sentiment, saying he’ll always love her as well.

The Episode Review

The episode was a rollercoaster of emotions, but some parts left us scratching our heads. We were rooting for Darius to stand up for himself and not marry Hanne, who had cheated on him. However, to our surprise, he went ahead with the wedding.

While some might find it satisfying, we were hoping for a different outcome. On the bright side, seeing Robert finally confess his love to Helena after six years was heartwarming. If the show gets another season, we’re excited to see where their story goes next.
