Level 5-1

This world’s going to feature all types of strange contraptions, patterns, and enemies for us to tackle. The Thwomp enemies will come crashing down at you when you’re near their field of vision. Therefore, we must maneuver Mario a certain way to avoid getting smushed and to help him conquer these levels before time runs out. We’ll provide many photos to help you through this one.

First, travel to the yellow switch and activate it as soon as the left Thwomp comes crashing down. This will force the left and right Thwomp to get stuck by the yellow blocks on each side. With those Thwomps out of your way, use the new yellow block pathway on your left to reach the yellow key. Grab the yellow key and head right and activate the red switch.

Now the left Thwomp can come crashing down toward the first floor level. When it does, swiftly activate the yellow switch. While that Thwomp’s stuck, the right one may cause you issues. If so, swiftly activate the red switch. Then, walk toward the second Thwomp to trigger its attack animation. As soon as it initiates that animation, activate the yellow switch to trap it.

Your screen should resemble mine as shown in the image above. If so, excellent! Navigate to the yellow spring and use it to propel yourself toward the yellow platform on your right. When you’re on that platform, head to your left and nab that red present. Be careful not to land on the locked door’s platform.

Otherwise, you’ll miss out on that red present. After you nab the red present, proceed to the locked door to initiate phase two.

Once again, patience and timing are key here. Head over to the area where I have Mario positioned in the picture above. Wait for the stone thorns to plummet to the ground. Use those thorns to navigate toward the right. Jump and obtain the 1-Up Mushroom and blue present while you’re trekking through this pathway.

Using the conveyor belts on your right, head up to that blue switch’s location and activate it. Be careful of that Thwomp Jr. enemy. They’ll be hopping back and forth. Once you activate the blue switch, return to the yellow present’s location and nab it. After you nab that present, return to the area where the blue switch is located.

Once there, navigate to your left and activate the red switch on your left. Be careful of the Thwomp on that side. Once you activate that switch, navigate to the wooden ladder and ascend it. Head right and claim that Mini-Mario Toy. Doing so will net you this victory screen. Great job!

Level 5-2

This one is more simplistic compared to Level 5-1. First, use the yellow spring to reach the locked door’s platform. When you’re on that platform, jump and grab the first chain on your right. Ascend that chain and navigate to the area where I have Mario in the picture above. Perform Mario’s Handstand Jump technique to obtain the red present.

You may want to opt for the double jump variant and tilt your analog stick to the right to pull this off successfully. After that, activate the blue switch that’s next to the yellow key. Grab the yellow key and throw it near the vertical blue structure that’s next to the third and fourth chain. A countdown will initiate, so we need to act fast.

Activate the red switch when you’re yellow key is touching that vertical blue structure. Your key should be near the yellow spring now. To get Mario to that location, hop on the red platform using his Handstand Jump or Backflip technique. Then, when you’re on the red platform, perform the Double Handstand Jump technique.

You want to land on the wooden structure that’s covered with a red cloth. When you’re on that structure head to your left and swiftly grab that yellow key before time runs out. Your screen will look like the picture above if you perform everything properly. If so, use the yellow spring to reach the locked door’s location. Unlock that door.

Alright for phase two, head left and use the yellow spring to reach the wooden platform where the shield robot is located. When you’re there, head left and perform Mario’s crouch command. Let the shield robot push you near that ladder. Before you climb the ladder, head down and claim that yellow present.

After you obtain the yellow present, jump on the shield robot that was next to the yellow present. We’ll be using him as a stool to reach the ladder. Jump and climb the ladder to the top. You’ll see a shield robot, two orange falling blocks, several yellow springs, and a spikey pathway.

Once again, get Mario into his crouching position and let the robot push you toward those orange falling blocks. Use the orange falling blocks as a pathway toward the yellow spring on your right. Use both yellow springs to ascend to a platform where another yellow spring is resting on a small wooden platform.

As shown in the image above, use that yellow spring to reach the blue present. You’ll obtain the blue present and land on the wooden platform again. After that, use the yellow spring again and tilt your analog stick slightly to the left to retrieve that 1-Up Mushroom. In unison, you should land on the first orange falling block on your left.

If you do, head to your right and jump to obtain the hammer. Use it to defeat the floating candles near the Mini-Mario Toy. Once defeated, use Mario’s Up-Throw technique to rid yourself of the hammer. Then, grab the Mini-Mario Toy. After that, you’ll receive this lovely victory screen. Let’s go to level 5-3.

Level 5-3

We’ll be jumping and activating many switches for this level. First, navigate to the blue switch using the conveyor belts shown above. Once you activate the blue switch, wait for the conveyor belt’s platform to arrive near you. Jump on it and jump onto the blue blocks shown above. Then, jump on the conveyor belt platform above the blue blocks.

When you’re on it, wait for it to arrive near the yellow switch that’s resting on the wood platform toward your left. Activate that yellow switch. Then, head left and land on the yellow platform because we must nab the red present. After you nab that red present, wait for the conveyor belt below the invisible blue blocks to arrive near you.

Jump on that conveyor belt’s platform and let it take you to the yellow blocks on your right. Use those yellow blocks as a pathway toward the yellow key. Grab the yellow key and descend to this phase’s floor level. Activate the blue switch on your right. Then, wait for the bottom conveyor belt platform to arrive near you. Jump on that again and wait for it to take you to the blue blocks.

Jump on the blue blocks like I did. Then, jump and land on the top conveyor belt’s platform. Wait for it to take you to the yellow switch’s location again. Activate the yellow switch. Once activated, hop on the same conveyor belt platform we’ve been using so far. Let it take you to the set of yellow blocks on your right. When you’re on those blocks, wait for the third conveyor belt’s platform to arrive.

Use that conveyor belt to reach the yellow present’s location. It’ll be hovering over a yellow platform. After you obtain the yellow present, wait for the third conveyor belt platform to arrive near you. Jump on it and activate the blue switch that’s resting on a wooden platform in the middle.

Once activated, hop on that platform again when it’s safe to do so. Then, when that platform aligns with the new blue platform that’s located under the locked door, jump toward that blue platform and unlock the door with your key.

The second phase can get a little tricky, but we’ll guide you through it. Activating these switches will turn these ghostly Shy Guys into platforms. Like the Thwomps from before, we’ll want to activate these switches at certain intervals. First, activate the blue switch when the blue Shy Guys touch each other.

They’ll form a blocky bridge that’ll allow you to reach the area I’m at. When you’re in that area, activate the red switch when the red ghostly Shy Guys form a blocky staircase of some kind. You can mirror how I have my Shy Guys laid out if you want. When they form a safe staircase, use the yellow spring to propel yourself to the next floor level.

Then, navigate to your left slightly. We’ll be dealing with those stone thorns again. Wait for them to drop toward the spikey paths, one by one. Make sure to jump toward the blue present when you’re traversing through this area too. When you reach the wooden ladder, climb it to reach this phase’s next floor level.

As shown in the image above, you’ll see several switches, more ghostly Shy Guys, a 1-Up Mushroom, and the Mini-Mario Toy nearby. First, activate the blue switch when the blue ghostly Shy Guys form a safe path. Once again, you can mirror how I have mine here. Use those blue Shy Guy blocks to reach the 1-Up Mushroom’s location.

Claim that mushroom and use either Shy Guy to reach the wooden ladder in the middle. Ascend that ladder. Activate the red switch to turn the red ghostly Shy Guy on your left into a blocky platform. When it transforms into one, use it to reach the Mini-Mario Toy on your left. Grab the Mini-Mario Toy. You’ll receive this victory screen after you do that.

Level 5-4

This level will likely annoy you the most. Mostly, because of that Boo robot. Fortunately, we’ll guide you through it. First, wait for the first thorn to drop. When it does, jump on it. Then, jump and obtain that red present above it. Be careful not to let that Boo robot touch you, otherwise, you’ll perish. Wait for the next thorn to drop.

Use that thorn along with the chains and wooden platforms on your right to reach the yellow present’s location. Nab the yellow present and activate the blue switch. Use the thorns hanging from the two wooden platforms to return to the location where the red present was located. Use the same yellow present traversal route to reach the new blue platform’s location.

When you’re on that blue platform, head to your left. You’ll spot a yellow key resting on a hovering wooden platform. Use the vertical conveyor belt to reach that yellow key’s location. Grab the yellow key and wait for the conveyor belt’s platform to arrive near you. Jump on it and ascend to the wooden platform where the red switch is present.

Activate the red switch. Then, use the conveyor belt’s platform again to reach the locked door’s location. Use your key to unlock that door.

For the second phase, climb the small wooden platforms to reach the red platform with a ladder attachment. Ascend that ladder and use the shield robot as a stool to propel yourself to the small wooden structure that’s covered by a red cloth. When you’re on that structure, wait for the conveyor belt’s platform on your left to arrive.

When it does, jump on it. Then, leap toward the 1-Up Mushroom and obtain it. After that, get Mario into his Handstand Jump position and perform that trick to land on the conveyor belt again. While on the conveyor belt, wait for it to arrive near the blue present. Jump, obtain the blue present, and safely land on the same platform you were using.

Then, leap toward the vertical conveyor belt platform toward your left. Use it to travel to the blue switch shown in the image above. Activate that blue switch. Once activated, jump to your left and use the vertical conveyor belt platform to lead you toward the one that’s moving horizontally. Use the horizontal conveyor belt to arrive in the area I have Mario in.

Crouch with Mario and wait for the shield robot to push you toward the Mini-Mario Toy’s location. When you’re in that location, drop down and obtain that fellow. You’ll receive this victory screen if you perform everything correctly.

Level 5-5

For Level 5-5, ascend the wooden ladder near the the locked door. Then, activate the blue switch that’s resting next to the yellow spring. Use the yellow spring to propel yourself to the location where I have Mario. Then, activate the red switch and nab that red present, too. Next, navigate to the right area where the yellow present and key are located.

Be careful of that Thwomp. Perform Mario’s Backflip or Handstand Jump technique to retrieve the yellow present nearby. You’ll land and find yourself in the same area where I have Mario placed in the image below.

Get Mario into his Handstand Jump position and perform the technique to reach the yellow key’s location. Grab the yellow key and return to the left-moving platform. Drop the key and get Mario into his crouching position. The platform will take both of you to the yellow spring. When it does, grab your yellow key and navigate to the locked door to unlock it.

For the second phase, you can reach the top platform in many ways. For time’s sake, we recommend leaving the red switch activated. Head toward the yellow spring and use it to propel yourself to the red upside-down T-shaped platform I have Mario at in the picture above. Then, perform Mario’s Handstand Jump technique to reach that wooden platform above.

Then, when the blue ghostly Shy Guy is in the far right corner, leap toward the wooden ladder and ascend upward. You’ll find a blue, red, and yellow switch in this area. Since you’ll want to nab that blue present, check the image below to see how I arranged the blue ghostly Shy Guys. As always, make sure to activate the blue switch when they’re aligned like this.

Once activated, descend the ladder and head toward the chain on the left. Jump, grab, and climb that chain until you reach the area where the blue Shy Guy blocks and present are within proper jumping distance.

Jump to retrieve the present and use the blue Shy Guy blocks to reach the Mini-Mario Toy’s location. Head over to the Mini-Mario Toy and grab it. You’ll be presented with this wonderful victory screen afterward. Nice work!

Level 5-6

This level is a bit complex, but we got you covered. First, use the yellow spring to propel yourself toward the first grey platform. Then, wait for the second grey platform to arrive near you. Jump on that platform and let it take you to the vertical grey platform on your left. Use that vertical grey platform to ascend to the top.

At the top, navigate toward the middle and jump on the orange falling block. Let the orange falling block take you to the red present. You’ll claim the red present by doing this. If you happen to fall to this phase’s ground level, don’t worry. We want that to happen. When you’re on the ground level, head left and activate that blue switch.

Next, jump on the first grey platform. Let it take you to the blue blocks on your right. Jump on those blocks and take the vertical grey platform on your right to the top location. Then, navigate to the left and head for the spot where the yellow switch and 1-Up Mushroom are located. Activate the yellow switch and jump toward the 1-Up Mushroom to claim it.

You’ll land on an orange falling block in that area. Wait for that block to drop because it will potentially drop you onto the second grey platform. When you’re on that platform, let it take you to the vertical grey platform on your left.

Use that vertical grey platform to ascend to the top. Based on the image above, ascend the yellow ladder that popped up. It will lead you to the yellow key’s location. Grab the yellow key and head for the locked door. Use your key to unlock that door.

The next phase features a riveting switch pattern for you to tackle. First, activate the yellow and blue switches in that order. This will free the shield robot from its blocky prison. When it’s free, descend the ladder and entice the shield robot to travel to the right. When it’s near the ladder, jump over the shield robot and crouch.

You’ll want to have Mario crouching near the dark brown bark. This will persuade the shield robot to push Mario toward the blue ladder on your left. When it pushes you into that area, jump on the shield robot. While on the shield robot, leap toward the blue ladder and climb it. Then, climb the wooden ladder.

You should reach the area shown above. If so, jump on the shield robot. Then leap toward the red switch. As always, activating it will cause the red ghostly Shy Guys to transform into blocky platforms. You’ll want to activate this red switch promptly. Consider imitating how I have my enemies arranged if you need visual assistance.

Once you activate it properly, head over to the shield robot and use the crouch technique to reach the area where your Shy Guy blocks are present. Use those blocks to obtain the yellow present. After that, use this blocky path to reach the area where the orange falling blocks are located.

Land on the first orange falling block. Wait for it to drop. When you’re near the blue present, leap toward it. There should be a yellow spring below the blue present. Use that to reach the small wooden platform that’s attached to the small bark platform that’s covered by a red cloth. Wait for your orange falling blocks to reappear.

When they do, jump on them and use them to reach the wooden ladder. Climb the wooden ladder and activate the blue switch on top. Then persuade the shield robot near the Mini-Mario Toy to come toward you. If it does, jump over it. Then, get into Mario’s crouch position and persuade the shield robot to push you toward the Mini-Mario Toy.

Grab the Mini-Mario Toy. You’ll receive this incredible victory screen in return. Great job!

Mini-Mario Level

If you thought the previous levels were a hassle, this Mini-Mario Level takes the icing on the cake. We’ll try our best to guide you through this complex one. First, navigate your Mini-Mario Toys toward the chain I have Mario placed at in the image above. Then, jump on the Mini-Mario Toys. Next, jump and grab the chain above.

Climb the chain until you reach the top. Then, navigate to your left to activate the blue switch. The first Thwomp will come crashing toward the blue blocks that’ll form above the T-Letter Box. When that Thwomp ascends over the top layer of red blocks, swiftly activate the red switch found in the bottom right corner. Refer to the image above if you need a visual aid.

This will trap the Thwomp and allow you and your toys to continue traversing this level. Navigate to your right until you reach the yellow switch. During this venture, the Mini-Mario Toys will net you the T-Letter Box. When they’re near you, activate the yellow switch and continue heading right.

Be careful not to touch that second Thwomp. We’ll be dealing with him shortly. After you pass the yellow blocks you’ll spot a yellow spring. Use the yellow spring to reach a wooden platform. This platform has a ladder attached to it that you can use as well. However, you should use the yellow spring since we need the Mini-Mario Toys to be on that wooden platform.

When you’re all together, get into Mario’s Handstand Jump position and leap toward the blue switch’s area. Before you activate the blue switch, head to your left a smidge. The Mini-Mario Toys will grab the Y-Letter Box for you. After that, activate the blue switch. This will cause the second Thwomp shown in the second image to fall on it.

When it falls on it, perform Mario’s Handstand Jump technique to reach the platform where the red and yellow switches are located.  Swiftly activate the red switch when you land on that platform. When the Thwomp passes the invisible row of blue blocks, swiftly activate the yellow switch. This will cause the Thwomp to perform his falling attack animation again.

When it lands toward the ground level, head for the blue switch and activate it. As you can see in the image above, the second Thwomp will no longer be an issue for us. With him out of the way, your version of Mario should be resting on the blue switch. If that’s the case, head toward your left where the invisible horizontal row of red blocks is located.

Perform Mario’s Handstand Jump technique to reach the Mini-Mario Toy Chest’s area. Walk slightly to your left when you’re near the chest. This will entice the Mini-Mario Toys to move across the blue platform, thereby, netting you the O-Letter Box in return. After that, return to the yellow spring that’s resting on the wooden platform near the second ladder.

Use the yellow spring to propel yourself to the area I have Mario in. Wait for your Mini-Mario Toys to head your way. When you and your mini pals are together, activate the red switch. Don’t worry about that Thwomp. He’ll still be trapped like a rat. After activating the red switch, jump to your right and land on the red platform.

Continue moving left. Your Mini-Mario Toys will jump and land on the red platform when you do this. Wait for all your mini buddies to enter the Mini-Mario Toy Chest. When they’re all inside, grab the chest. You’ll be greeted by this stellar victory screen. Great job!

Spooky House – Donkey Kong Boss Fight

While Donkey Kong won’t be throwing barrels or other devices at you, you’ll need to contend with his Shy Guys of Doom. Essentially, Donkey Kong will be activating the blue, red, and yellow switches in front of him. As shown above, activating the yellow switch results in the yellow Shy Guy ghost becoming a solid and throwable foe again.

As such, you’ll grab the solid Shy Guys and use the platforms shown above to reach Donkey Kong. Then, you’ll throw that Shy Guy at Donkey Kong to weaken him. You must perform this action four times to claim victory. As with prior levels, Donkey Kong will ramp up the pace when he’s near death.

Moreover, players can throw Shy Guys at other Shy Guys to lower the amount of hazards on screen. However, we recommend throwing the Shy Guys at Donkey Kong because they’ll inevitably return to the battlefield seconds later. As long as you dodge the ghostly Shy Guys and keep throwing the solid ones at Donkey Kong, you’ll win!

As with other levels, Donkey Kong grumbles at the player. Then, he turns around and grabs his sack of Mini-Mario Toys and flees. Mario chases after Donkey Kong. This ends the Spooky House portion of the game.
