Lootere – Episode 8 Recap, Review & Ending Explained

Do the crew escape the burning ship?

Episode 8 of Lootere kicks off with Barkhand taking his last breath as Gabul, his brother, drives a knife deep into Barkhand’s heart. With Barkhand gone, Gabul seizes command of the ship and orders his pirates to lock up the crew. Their plan is to set the ship ablaze and make a run for it.

Gabul then takes Aisha to the port and coldly shoots Satwinder in front of her. As smoke fills their cabins, the crew realizes that the pirates have set the ship on fire. Thankfully, Captain Ak Singh arrives to rescue and free his trapped crew members. Sadly, Bhavesh, Raman, and Lalit succumb to asphyxiation before Ak Singh can reach them.

Vikrant also arrives at the ship with the money to trade for Ismael’s safety, only to find the ship engulfed in smoke and Ismael with a bullet lodged in the skull. Fortunaly, everyone manages to reach the port before the ship is completely consumed by flames.

After handing the crew members to Warris, Vikrant races towards Mogadishu. Unfortunately, Warris and the crew members are soon captured by Al-Muharib.

What happens to Vik’s family?

In Mogadishu, Tawfiq assumes the role of president of the Somalia Port. As soon as Tawfiq settles into his new position, he asks General Walid for a favor—to eliminate Vikrant’s family. However, since Walid is Vikrant’s friend, he refuses.

Vikrant calls Tawfiq, pleading with him to spare the lives of his family, but Tawfiq refuses and hangs up. Meanwhile, Al Muharib is en route to Mogadishu, planning a coup d’état.

Vikrant returns home and delivers the heartbreaking news to Jamila that her son Ismael has passed away. Jamila is devastated, questioning why Vikrant made a false promise to her.

How does Lootere end?

She accuses him of being a bad man. Vikrant then informs his wife, Avika, and son, Arya, that their life in Somalia is over and everything he has worked for has been destroyed. Vikrant also breaks the news of Ismael’s death to Arya, which shatters the young boy as Ismael was his best friend.

The situation escalates quickly as bullets start flying, implying that Tawfiq’s assassins have arrived at Vikrant’s house. Despite Ahmed and Vikrant’s efforts to defend themselves, Jamila is tragically shot in the head. Avika is also hit, taking a couple of bullets to her chest and passing away in Vikrant’s arms. Fortunately, Vikrant, Ahmed, and Arya manage to escape the house unharmed.

The Episode Review

So, is this the end of Vikrant’s story? Not by a long shot. This is just the beginning of a new chapter for him. At the start of the season, it was all about Vikrant trying to maintain his position and authority but by the end, it became a story of survival.

In the final moments, Vikrant lost the most important thing in his life—his wife Avika. Avika became the price Vikrant paid for his unchecked ambitions. Now, Vikrant will be back, fueled by a desire for revenge against Tawfiq and all those who betrayed him.

Faisal will also move to the city, sparking a civil war and further complicating the situation. As for the crew members, we saw their crash, but we’re sure they’ll survive. Al-Muharib would be foolish to kill them, as they could be a valuable bargaining chip against both the Indian and Somali governments.
