Let’s Talk About Chu – Episode 2 Recap & Review

Episode 2

Episode 2 kicks off with Maio attending her swimming class, where she runs into her friend Hsu Min, who happens to be Nun’s friend’s wife. Hsu Min shares her frustration about her husband’s lack of attention, saying that all Nun wants to focus on is business.

However, in between her complaints, she also playfully shows her jealousy for Maio and her perfect family, not knowing that Miao is going through the same plight. Meanwhile, Chu is having a normal day at work when she receives a message from a stranger who happens to be one of her few followers.

The stranger goes as far as offering her money to be her sugar daddy, but Chu chooses to ignore the offer. As her shift goes on, she receives a text from a co-worker who shares a clip in which someone has superimposed Chu’s face onto a pornstar’s body, and the video is rapidly gaining traction on social media.

This is enough to make anyone anxious, but shockingly, Chu remains unfazed. When her co-worker advises Chu to take the matter to the police, she sees it as an opportunity to turn the situation to her advantage. In the comment section, she leaves the link to one of her videos via a fake account. Ping doesn’t like it, but Chu is confident that this tactic will make her channel go viral.

Meanwhile, Yu has been avoiding Henry, his boyfriend, because he is uncertain about their relationship and feels somewhat sidelined. Ping’s life is no different, as he, too, is being forced by his mother to enter into a relationship with Chu. Why? Because she believes Ping and Chu will make a great match.

This irritates Ping, and after being pushed over to the edge, he scratches his father’s car in frustration. This becomes an issue, as immediately Ping’s father cuts his allowance. Despite being born into wealth, Ping is having a hard time making a living. Ping tries to get jobs, but high expectations coupled with limited qualifications hinder his hunt.

As the story goes on, it becomes clear that Yu has been avoiding Henry because Henry is already married to a girl and is leading a double life. Henry tries to justify his actions by explaining that he did it all for the clinic he wants to open, and the girl’s father is willing to help him with the much-needed money. Henry backs his cheating, saying he did it for the greater good.

The story then shifts to Wei, who is jealous of a girl who quite often is seen having sex in the library. Wei can’t help but fantasize about being in her place. When she cannot take it anymore, Wei orders herself a vibrator to pleasure herself.

Things take a surprise turn when Professor Lin, out of the blue, starts getting intimate with Wei, and as expected she doesn’t refuse and has the best time of her life. But as soon as they both reach Climax, Lin refuses to stay and leaves home to play gold with her friends. This leaves Wei feeling used, stuck in a marriage with a man who doesn’t understand or honor her needs.

As the episode nears its end, we see Yu, who drowns himself in booze after finding out that his boyfriend has been cheating on him. Yu borrows a huge sum from the club and ends up losing it all in a game. He is given an ultimatum to return the money within a week, and that too with  10% interest. However, Yu is too intoxicated to make sense of anything.

The Episode Review

Episode 2 builds upon the foundations set by Episode 1. In Episode 1, we are introduced to the Chu family and learn how they’re unhappy and dissatisfied in their own way.

In Episode 3, there’s a high chance that things will turn heated for Yu because of the huge blunder Yu made while he was drunk. As for Chu, she might expect her channel to go viral or rather see her plan failing.

Furthermore, we’ll also see more of the respective conflict between Wei, Lin, Nun, and Miao.
