Kaiju No. 8 can be read at a number of different places online. Viz Media is available for those in the US and Canada, while Manga Plus has the rights to drop new chapters. However, it will also be available to read on Shonen Jump too.
10 volumes of this have dropped in paperback form in Japan, but the English translations have been delayed. In fact, the next volume holding Chapters 67–73 is set to drop in January 2024! With that in mind, reading online is definitely the definitive way to catch this one.
Kaiju No. 8: Chapter 98 Release Date
Kaiju No. 8: Chapter 99 will be released on Friday 22nd December at approximately 12am (JST). This means that for the majority of the Western world, we’ll get to experience this one on Thursday 21st December at 3pm (GMT) / 8am (PT) / 11am (ET). Of course, it’s really dependent on how quickly these chapters are uploaded. Expect this to be pretty close to the release time though.

How Many Chapters Will Kaiju No 8 Have?
It’s hard to say how many chapters Kaiju No. 8 will be. The anime drops next year in 2024, and that will undoubtedly spike interest in manga sales for this one. However, there’s always the danger of this one petering out and becoming repetitive. Early estimates would place this one to finish in the region of 150-200 chapters, but take that with a pinch of salt!
What Happened In Chapter 98?
Kafka protects two agents from the attacks of the mega monsters. #9 says it won’t let him help Mina because he refuses to give anything up. With that, the monsters keep attacking many targets. Even though Kafka can easily handle the creatures, there are too many. #9 did everything so the protagonist would be stuck helping other people and wounded soldiers instead of rescuing his friend.
Commander Ashiro almost hits #9, but as she starts to give him trouble, it closes their distance and captures her. Then, it hacks Tokyo’s communication systems and spreads its message to everyone. It’ll absorb Mina Ashiro and use her abilities to create stronger monsters that’ll make him unstoppable.
