Does Imaginary have a Post-Credits Scene?

A lot of horror films have post-credits scenes that hint at a possible sequel. If you’re planning to watch Imaginary, the latest chilling title from Blumhouse, you might be wondering if this movie has a scene after the closing credits.

The movie stars DeWanda Wise as a woman named Jessica who moves back to her childhood home with her family. When Jessica’s stepdaughter forms an eerie attachment to the stuffed bear she finds in the basement, the girl’s behaviour becomes increasingly concerning. Could the bear be responsible for this? With the recent news that M3GAN, another movie about a girl and a troublesome toy, is lined up for a sequel, there’s a slim chance that we might see Imaginary 2 at some point in the future.

And if there is to be a sequel, it’s only logical to suggest that Imaginary might have a post-credits sequence.

But is there a post-credits scene at the end of Imaginary?

Does Imaginary have a post-credits scene?

Unfortunately, Imaginary does not have a post-credits scene.

This doesn’t necessarily rule out the possibility of a sequel, however, as several of Blumhouse’s movies have been turned into popular franchises. We’re thinking of Insidious, The Purge, and Paranormal Activity, as just a few examples.

The first movie’s director Jeff Wadlow is interested in an Imaginary sequel. In an interview with Dexerto, he said:

“I would love to see a sequel to this movie. There’s so much more to explore – we just barely open the door to this other world, the Never Ever.

“That’s why I think our movie is kind of bigger than other horror movies in this sort of evil toy subgenre. I mean, ultimately, Chucky, Annabelle, M3GAN – it’s really just about the individual character in those pieces.”

There might not be a post-credits scene in Imaginary but over the credits, a spooky song is played that references the movie’s sinister teddy bear. This could be a hint from Blumhouse that a sequel is on the way. But for now, this possibility is just in our imagination, so we will just have to wait and see.
