The player controls two protagonists known as Althea and Farkas at the same time as they start to realise they are more than human. The player decides who to trust, with supernatural and human groups each having their own agenda.
They also face mysterious assassins and become friends, rivals and lovers with a variety of companions. The game includes gods, monsters, corrupt governments and various criminals.
