Final Fantasy 16 Guide – Main Story Quest #1
Welcome to our Final Fantasy 16 walkthrough! This latest installment of Final Fantasy is one good looking game, with stunning graphics and some beautiful locations to explore. Nowhere else is the graphical prowess more impressive than in how the game starts.
Welcome to Valisthea
We open with a lengthy cutscene, introducing us to the world of Valisthea in the Year of the Realm 873. The world is divided between six nations that hold power through access to magical Crystals and Dominants. The latter serve as humans who act as hosts for each nation’s Eikon. The set-up is similar to Attack on Titan – and the story is every bit as brutal and shocking.
This opening sees the tensions between nations escalate, partly thanks to something called the Blight consuming the land. Battle rages between two warring sides, with the Dominants for both Shiva and Titan dwarfing the battlefield below. Unknown to everyone fighting, Clive Rosfield, guardian to his younger brother Joshua, witnesses this fight and sets out on an assassination quest with his colleagues. A mission that ultimately puts him on course to exact revenge against the dark Eikon, Ifrit.
Ifrit VS Phoenix
This opening cutscene then paves way for our first bit of gameplay. In this short section you are playing as the Eikon, Phoenix. As you tumble down a ravine that looks suspiciously like the Mines of Moria in Lord of the Rings, you just need to press Triangle to shoot fireballs and R1 to dodge Ifrit’s attacks. It’s quite straightforward, just be sure to dodge Ifrit’s attacks.
The Eikon will wind up an attack with a bright flash, allowing you to gauge when he’s about to strike. After fighting for around 5-10 minutes or so, this section will end.
