Just in time for Summer, Viki is releasing Cinderellas of Midsummer (Manatsu no Cinderella) a new Japanese seaside drama that’s rolling alongside its in-language run on Fuji TV, promising sun, romance and plenty of misunderstandings.

Cinderellas of Midsummer is a Japanese romance drama focused on a mix of young people who spend their summer at the beach where their fates slowly intertwine. Featuring a host of familiar young Japanese actors including Mamiya Shotaro (Fight Song), Kamio Fuju (Black Cinderella), Mori Nana (A Warmed Up Love), Riku Hagiwara (My Beautiful Man), Yoshikawa Ai (Influence) and GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE’s Alan Shirahama (HiGH & LOW franchise), it promises to be fun.

In the first episode, already some distinct personalities and opposing family backgrounds are starting to emerge, along with an unrequited childhood love.

Cinderellas of Midsummer airs on Fuji TV in Japan. It is available to stream on Viki for international fans.

Cinderellas of Midsummer Episode 1 Release Date

Episode 1 of Cinderellas of Midsummer releases internationally on Tuesday 11th July, the day after it releases on Fuji TV (Monday 10th July). Each instalment will run about an hour and 10 minutes.

Viki’s release will include subtitles in English, Hebrew, Hungarian, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish.

How Many Episodes Will Cinderellas of Midsummer Have?

We’re expecting to see 10 episodes, running till September 11, 2023. This is actually a decent run for a Japanese drama, which sometimes only run for 6-8 episodes.
