The K-pop idol-turned-actor Cha Eunwoo (born Lee Dong-min) is known for his pretty face not only in South Korea but around the world. Keeping a very healthy balance between his career as a singer as well as an actor, Eunwoo has starred in a wide range of K-dramas over the past decade.

A Good Day To Be A Dog

One of Eunwoo’s most popular dramas to date, the show narrates the story of Han Hae-na, a single woman who works as a high school teacher. Hae-na’s family has been cursed for generations due to which Hae-na turns into a a dog after being kissed.

The curse starts from midnight to dawn and keeps repeating itself until the person cursed is kissed again by one who triggered it while they are in dog form. One drunken night, Hae-na ends up kissing her colleague, Seo-won who has a strong fear of dogs.


My ID Is Gangnam Beauty

The show established Eunwoo as a promising main lead and it follows the story of Kang Mi-rae, a girl who was often teased and bullied in school. Although undergoing plastic surgery to enhance her appearance boosts her beauty, there is no change in her timid personality.

Everyone in college calls Mi-rae ‘Gangnam Beauty’, a derogatory term. However, Mi-rae is particularly interested in Do Kyung-seok, a man of little words who cares about her inner beauty rather than what’s on the outside. 


Island

The show follows the life of Won Mi-ho, a famous businesswoman who is sent to Jeju Island after a public controversy. Once on Jeju Island, something sinister starts unfolding with Mi-ho when she ends up hunted by lust demons who are determined to kill her.

With no way to escape, Mi-ho hires a demon slayer – Ban. At the same time, high priests from Italy send a young priest named Yohan to Jeju Island who pledges to protect Mi-ho.


True Beauty

This popular 2020 K-drama follows the story of a high school student, Lim Ju-kyung who used to be bullied at her old high school for being ugly. After getting a chance to move to school, Ju-kyung decides to master the art of makeup and transforms herself into a ‘pretty girl’.

The ‘pretty girl’ fame leads Ju-kyung to be a part of a clique in high school – something she had only dreamed about. The show tells the love story of Ju-kyung who falls for Lee Su-ho, the only boy who has seen her without makeup.


Hit The Top

The show sees Eunwoo in a guest role and follows the story of a K-pop idol from the 90s named Yoo Hyun-jae who accidentally travels through time to 2017. Hyun-jae tries to adjust in the future and the meantime he tries to learn why he was moved forward in time.

The show also narrates the story of Lee Ji-hoon, an aspiring musician who is secretly enrolled as an idol trainee at Star Punch Entertainment instead of studying for his civil service exams.


Top Management

The 2018 YouTube Original web series, Top Management is a show based on an internet novel. The show tells the story of a new manager at an entertainment agency who uses her ability to see the future to succeed in the industry.

Cha Eunwoo plays Woo Yeon-woo, a member of the K-pop idol group S.O.U.L. The show stars Ahn Hyo-seop as well as Hip-Hop rapper, a.mond among others.

Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung

This is one of Cha Eunwoo’s first full-length dramas as a main lead. The show follows the story of Goo Hae-ryung, an intern hoping to become a palace historian. However, it was not acceptable for women to write historical records during the 19th century. Hae-ryung takes one step at a time to create her destiny in the Joseon period where Confucian ideas are deeply rooted.


Soul Plate

This web drama doubles as a South Korean food and culture campaign in partnership with the K-pop boy group Astro that Eunwoo is a part of. The show narrates the story of the six Astro members who are angels and descendants of Raphael. The angels run a restaurant that serves food that heals and comforts the people eating it.


Sweet Revenge

This teen fantasy web drama is a teen fantasy drama that follows the life of a teenager named Go-hee who gets her hands on a ‘Revenge Note’ application. The app boasts the promise of delivering revenge to anyone whose name is entered into it. Sick of the bullying done to her, Go-hee decides it’s time for a little payback. But it doesn’t take long for her sweet revenge to turn sour.


My Brilliant Life (Movie)

The 2014 film that marks Eunwoo’s acting debut is My Palpitating Life (also known as My Brilliant Life) which narrates the story of a 17-year-old Ah-reum born with a rare genetic disorder where he ages far faster than everyone else. Possessing the body of an 80-year-old, he prepares a gift for his young parents who have raised him with unconditional love.
