Being As An Ocean has always embodied a gritty spirit, and their music has always been profound, sending shivers down the spines of listeners who like their music to be melodic and dark. The band step out again with misery on their minds and hurt in their bones while maintaining a great foundation.

Death Can Wait is an LP that describes emotions in such a deep way. It has been masterminded by great musicians who scream about torturous times, those hard moments when their dreams escape them, when the light dies an undesirable death, and when all hope is lost.

Musically, the band are at the top of their game, pushing boundaries while staying humble and sincere. The guitars are in the frame as always, blending in well with the clean vocals and screams.

‘Beautiful Agony’ starts the record off. Clean vocal work immerses, and the track bursts into a monologue-driven masterclass. Poetry is at centre stage.

‘Purest Love’ takes time to flow, but when it does, it triggers emotion. That guitar presence is sonically pleasing.

‘Gloom’ opens with clean vocals. The lyrics are highly intelligent and weaved with care and thought. The instrumentals pulsate, and the story goes on, giving us a sequence of events.

‘Snake’ shows guitar brilliance, and the vocals are haunting. Again, the emotions drive in, spreading like wildfire. There’s no moment of tenderness.

Being As An Ocean engages here, and their music has that sensitiveness to count.
