The popular revenge K-drama, Taxi Driver released its second season in 2023 after gaining a lot of popularity from its first released in 2021. The show follows the story of a group of people who help family members of victims of vicious crimes.

After desperate people contact Rainbow Taxi’s secret agency to help avenge their loved ones, the group led by Kim Do-gi, along with Sung-cheol, Go-eun, Kyung-goo and Jin-eon helps these desperate victims reunite with their families.

My Name

Distinctly similar to the way in which desperate family members want to avenge their loved ones in Taxi Driver, the 6-episode Netflix Original, My Name, follows the story of a young girl, Yoon Ji-woo whose father is murdered before her eyes.

Pledged to take revenge on her father’s killer, Ji-woo works for her father’s friend Choi Mu-jin under his crime group – Dongcheonpa. With Mu-jin’s help, Ji-woo becomes a mole in the police department in order to look for her father’s murderer who is one of the cops.

The latest Netflix sensation, The Glory, follows the journey of revenge for a bullying victim. After Moon Dong-eun’s dreams are ruined by her school bully, Park Yoon-jin and her friends, Dong-eun makes it her life goal to destroy Yeon-jin’s life.

Dong-eun spends her teen years working hard to be a teacher and eventually joins the private school as the homeroom teacher of Yeon-jin’s daughter – Ye-sol.

Mai: A Mother’s Rage

The 2022 Netflix Original is a 6-episode revenge thriller that follows the life of Sheel Chaudhary, a middle-class mother and a nurse working at an old age home, Geeta Bhawan. Sheel witnesses the accidental death of her daughter, Supriya by a speeding truck.

However, she is shocked to learn that the accident was premeditated. Learning that Supriya’s death was a case of pre-planned murder, the mourning mother pledges to uncover the truth about it and avenge her daughter.


Eve

Similarities: Revenge, Drama

The 2022 K-drama follows the story of revenge involving a woman named Lee La-el, who lost her father as a young girl. Knowing that a lot of powerful people were responsible for his death, La-el plots her revenge over the next 13 years with the help of Seo Eun-pyeong.

Seo Eun-pyeong was an orphan who witnessed the death of La-el’s father and pledges his allegiance to her by growing up to become a person of power by joining the National Assembly. Together Eun-pyeong and La-el target the CEO of LY Group, Kang Yoon-kyum, the central figure responsible for La-el’s father’s murder.

The Devil Judge

The dystopian Korean drama, The Devil Judge is set in a time of chaos in the country. A judge turns his courtroom into something of a reality show and punishes evil people mercilessly. Kang Yo-han is a judge who punishes corrupt and greedy men with power.

Jung Sun-a is an executive director of the Social Responsibility Foundation. She is smart and beautiful and also is Kang Yo-han’s enemy. She has the power to control the country by using her relationships.

Kim Ga-on is a rookie judge who has experienced difficult times after he lost his parents as a child. Yoon Soo-Hyun is a detective. She is Kim Ga-on’s long-time friend and chases after Kang Yo-han’s secret.

The Blacklist

The Blacklist follows Raymond “Red” Reddington, a former government agent turned high-profile criminal, who voluntarily surrenders to the FBI. He offers to help them track down and apprehend other dangerous criminals on his “blacklist,” but only if he can work with rookie profiler Elizabeth Keen.

As law enforcement and outside sources join hands, each episode of the show features a global criminal and Raymond Reddington assists the task force in hunting down and capturing them.
