However, an interviewer decides to unearth the truth as she convinces all of the former band members and acquaintances to participate in her tell-all documentary about the band.

While each of the band members has their own issues like driving Uber during the day or working at a butcher shop, they get together to make a mark in London’s punk music scene.


Glee

Not to be mistaken with MTV’s reality show, Roadies is a rom-com which focuses on the crew of an indie band, Staton-House Band. Bill the tour manager, Shelli the production manager and Kelly the light rigger are the backbone of the band.

As they get ready to go on a tour, the crew must be ready to handle all the issues that will surely pop up from technical issues to obsessed groupies. What they don’t expect is the band to give them trouble as well such as the guitarist locking heads with the lead singer.


Pistol

If you wished Daisy Jones & The Six was a real rock band, how about trying out the TV show Pistol based on the very real and iconic punk rock band Sex Pistols? Based on the guitarist, Steve Jones’ memoir, Pistol gives a new perspective to the enigmatic band as they viewed themselves as messy, middle-class kids who had no future.

Selena: The Series

Selena: The Series is based on the life of the legendary Spanish singer Selena and her career. Before her impactful presence in the Latin American music industry in the 90s, we see Selena Quintanilla struggling to rise up. She enters the music world via a family band after her father hears her singing. As she gets opportunity after opportunity, there is always a catch with her having to make hard decisions.


The Office (US version)

If you have a thing for mockumentaries you’ve either already seen The Office or never heard of it. Well, this popular sitcom is told in the form of a documentary which follows the employees of the Scranton branch of a paper company, Dunder Mifflin.

Led by the overly-enthusiastic manager, Michael Scott, the mockumentary follows their misadventures through the years.


Parks And Recreation

Another hilarious mockumentary that will have you in stitches is Parks and Recreation. This show too makes use of the found family trope as Leslie Knope decides to gather a bunch of bureaucrats to help Ann turn an empty construction site into a garden after her boyfriend falls into it and injures himself.

As they grow as an impactful branch of the government, Leslie decides to take on more projects much to the chagrin of her boss, Ron Swanson who could care less.


Modern Family

Similarity – Mockumentary

Modern Family follows the Pritchetts, their spouses and their children as they somehow keep getting into some type of trouble or other problem. Never a dull day in the homes of the Pritchetts, they go about helping each other begrudgingly and somehow end up closer than before.

Mitchell and his partner Cameron need to figure out how to be new dads while Jay’s wife Gloria who is much younger than him must get over the prejudices of being considered a gold digger and being Colombian. As for Jay’s daughter, Claire, she is married to the quirky real estate agent Phil and has three kids who do not get together at all.
