Young Sheldon – Season 7 Episode 2 “A Roulette Wheel and a Piano Playing Dog” Recap & Review

A Roulette Wheel and a Piano Playing Dog

In the beginning of Young Sheldon Season 7 Episode 2, we have Sheldon—whom we saw making his way to Germany with his mother, Mary, and persuading her to stay there in spite of the tornado that occurred in Texas—having an especially difficult time in class. To respond to several questions, he raises his hand. To his horror, though, his responses prove to be incorrect.

On the other hand, in Texas, Missy stays in charge of the household in a manner that is quite similar to that of her mother. It would appear that the family is reliant on her to complete all of the household responsibilities. Furthermore, we witness Mandy’s father paying a visit to the home, after which he joins George Sr. in watching football together. Shortly after that, Missy appears to be having difficulty completing all of her responsibilities, and as a result, she requests that George Sr. and Mandy’s father go grocery shopping for her.

Meanwhile, in the gambling room, Meemaw is growing increasingly impatient to earn money after her house was wrecked by the tornado. She decides to purchase a roulette table for the room so that she can make money as quickly as possible. George Jr. is extremely sceptical about the roulette table, given that they can land in prison as a consequence of it. Despite this, Meemaw is adamant that they get it.

Sheldon is still suffering from poor academic performance in his classes, and he is falling further and further behind his classmates in comparison to them. As a consequence, his professor arranges for a ten-year-old girl to tutor him. This is something that causes Sheldon’s pride to suffer. The notion that Sheldon is finally being humbled, on the other hand, is something that Mary considers to be an extremely humorous sight.

The action then shifts to Texas, where Missy is the one who insists that the family say grace while they are having dinner. After dinner, George Jr. tells Mandy about the roulette table. On the other hand, she agrees with Meemaw because of the potential profit that it can bring in. In the later hours of the night, George Jr. and Missy are both unable to fall asleep, so they talk about their problems with each other. After considering all of this, Missy has arrived at the conclusion that she does not wish to take on the responsibility of maintaining the family.

The following day, Missy distributes the household chores among all of the members of the family and refuses to complete everything by herself. In the meantime, over in Germany, Sheldon is compelled to sit quietly and listen in class, without being allowed to talk or respond to any questions, and the episode comes to a close.

The Episode Review

Sheldon is embarrassed to see that he is falling behind his class in episode two. In Texas, Missy eventually delegates responsibilities among the family members. On the other hand, Meemaw decides to get a roulette table for the gambling room to make up for her wrecked house.

The narrative of the episode is not only interesting and enjoyable, but it also contains a good amount of humour that is incorporated into it. In contrast to the previous season, it seems like this season is beginning to get back on track with the show’s mood and tone from the seasons before it. Moreover, the characters continue to perform exceptionally well in their respective roles, which is a significant factor that contributes to the overall improvement of the show’s quality.
