XO, Kitty – Season 2 Episode 7 “Kiss of Death” Recap & Review

Kiss of Death

Episode 7 of XO Kitty season 2 starts with Kitty having a wild dream about Min-ho releasing she was right about Stella. In the dream, the two are on her bed, and Min-ho confesses his feelings for her. They are about to kiss when Kitty is startled awake by Stella.

Kitty shares her steamy dream with Q, and he questions if she likes Min-ho. Kitty denies this and says she misses him since they fell out. As they talk, she acts like she is not into the prom-posals, but it turns out she helped Jin do one for Q.

With prom on the horizon, Kitty feels left out as no one has asked her out. She starts getting jealous while she watches Min-ho’s prom-posal to Stella. Even though she tries to deny she is jealous, it is clear she is. Still, she turns her attention to her family reunion.

She meets up with Ji-won and learns that Halmoni is angry about Kitty’s grandmother leaving the country and burdening her with the responsibility of taking care of their ageing parents. Jiwon and Kitty strategize on how to help reunite the two sisters.

With the end of the semester on the horizon, the contest competition is also close. Mr Moon announces the winner will also be the opening act for Joon-ho’s summer tour. During class, he gives the students a test on media training. Dae grows more anxious, but Kitty promises they got him. Among the questions, Dae is asked about his dating life. Min-ho encourages him to lie about his relationship status for the fans always.  This ends up complicating his relationship with Eunice. When he goes shopping with Yuri, she gets into his head, too. Dae ends up feeling even more anxious about competing against his girlfriend.

After the class, Kitty and Min-ho get into it again. Min-ho demands that Kitty apologise and accept she is wrong about Stella. Of course, Kitty refuses. As they walk out of class, Stella informs Min-ho that she is thinking of joining the contest. However, it is too late to participate, so she asks Min-ho to ask his dad for a favour on her behalf.

Later, Q shares with Min-ho that Kitty is on her way to ambush her Halmoni in the market. Min-ho thinks it is a bad idea, but rushes out to help her. Thankfully, Halmoni is more accepting of Kitty this time. She opens up when she realises that Eve and her sister were planning to come to Korea years ago.

She reveals that she betrayed her sister when she got with Kitty’s grandfather. Technically, she was betrothed to another man. Once Halmoni sold her out to their parents, they disowned her, and she left the country. Halmoni blames herself for revealing the truth and forcing her sister to leave.

On her way back, Kitty spots Stella getting into a cybercafe. She calls Juliana and claims she is ready to catch Stella red-handed. However, Stella is two steps ahead of her and makes it look like she is about to video call with her youth church group. Kitty ends up feeling bad and thinks she was wrong about Stella. Unfortunately, Stella is there to listen to the conversations being held in Mr Moon’s office.

In the evening, the students glam up for prom.  At the party, Dae and Eunice fight when they give different answers about their relationship. On the other hand, Yuri and Juliana have a moment in the drinks section.

In the meantime, Kitty confesses to Q that she might have been wrong about Stella. When Min-ho shows up, she apologises to him. They make up, but Stella’s hot entrance ruins their sweet moment. It looks like she is done with the whole church girl vibe and is ready to conquer the world with her new superstar look. As Min-ho dances with her, he remembers Kitty’s words about Stella changing her name and looks.

The truth finally dawns on him, and he says one of the lines from her outburst. Stella realises the jig is up and bluntly threatens Min-ho. She clarifies that her original plan was to ruin Mr Moon, but now she wants to be a star. If Min-ho doesn’t help, she will reveal Joon-ho’s secret and frame Kitty for the Moonleaks. To protect his family and Kitty, Min-ho agrees to her charade.

The Episode Review

Stella didn’t come to play. The girl had goals and a clearly outlined plan on how to take Mr Moon down. She might be evil and vindictive, but she is a good villain. She has Min-ho where she wants him, and she is ready for the endgame. The angst as Min-ho watches Kitty while being threatened by Stella is top-notch. The regret and his desire to protect her. He didn’t budge until Stella mentioned Kitty. That is when his most protective side came out. That is just so K-Drama about him, and we love it!

Sadly, it looks like Eunice and Dae are not meant to be, but we were not feeling it either. They are cute, but we didn’t see enough heart-fluttering moments to get us rooting for them. However, it will be fun to see Eunice channel her wrath onto the dance floor.

We also have Jin and Q; they are cute and seem to be in a good place. Jin has come a long way. Fingers crossed, he won’t mess this up. As for Juliana and Yuri, is there a second chance for them?
