XO, Kitty – Season 2 Episode 6 “Kiss and Make Up” Recap & Review

Kiss and Make Up

Episode 6 of XO Kitty season 2 starts with the gang visiting Dae’s dad in the hospital. Dae’s dad makes Min-ho promise he won’t let Dae get a side job. He wants Dae to focus on his studies. Min-ho agrees even though Dae is still cold towards him.

Meanwhile, Kitty is on the brink of giving up on reconnecting with Cousin Jiwon. It has been two weeks and there has been no response. Simultaneously, she has been giving Yuri the silent treatment too. Currently, Kitty has a lot on her mind, but luckily, Peter is in town to help her.

She shows him around the campus but avoids the dorm so he doesn’t meet Stella. They also head to a school supply store and run into Min-ho. Our boy Min-ho tries to hide his jealousy when Kitty introduces him to Peter. Peter picks up on the vibes and tells Kitty that Min-ho is still into her. Kitty remains in denial and says that Min-ho is happy with Stella.

As the days pass, Kitty receives a letter that Jiwon found in her dad’s things. Based on the letters, it looks like Eve was planning to travel with Kitty when she was three years old to Korea and reunite the family. Kitty excitedly calls Yuri and updates her on the discovery.

Later, Dae asks Principal Lee if there are any T. A position available and Min-ho overhears. Unfortunately, following the Mooonleaks scandal, the budget is tight. Min-ho offers to help Dae, but he is turned down. Meanwhile, Mr Moon returns to campus after handling the Moonleaks crisis. He informs Min-ho that he is holding a dinner party with his best students to discuss the future of the Moon Arts Program.

As the regionals get close, Jin grows more anxious about his dad’s visit. Sadly, he gets an injury and is no longer allowed to participate in the regionals. This causes tension in his relationship with Q, who is in his best form.

At Mr Moon’s dinner, Stella and Min-ho give him an antique clock as a gift. The man is touched and finally has a heart-to-heart talk with Min-ho. He apologises for his shortcomings and expresses his intent to do better as a dad. He also shares that he is worried about his other son, Joon-ho, since he got his backup dancer pregnant and wants to quit.

As Kitty continues to keep an eye on Stella, she finds a clue about who Stella might be. On the other hand, Yuri meets with Jiwon before the party and tries to help Kitty. At the dinner, Mr Moon announces that he is turning the end-of-semester contest into a massive reality show. It will be streamed globally, and the winner will not only get money but get a recording contract. However, it will be a solo competition, so Dae and Eunice will have to split up.

Stella gets visibly offended when he mentions one of his former reality shows.  She also refuses to sing at the Karaoke and looks visibly sick at the thought of singing. Min-ho approaches Dae again and offers to help with his performance. Finally, Dae forgives him.

After the dinner, Kitty surfs the net to find out more about Stella and why she nearly choked when Mr Moon mentioned an old reality singing contest. The next day, she tries to tell Min-ho the truth about Stella. She shows him the video of a young Stella (Esther) auditioning for his dad’s talent show. However, even though she had the voice, Mr Moon turned her down because of her looks. Her outburst became an internet meme and Kitty is certain that she is out for revenge.

Unfortunately, Min-ho refuses to listen to Kitty and accuses her of being jealous and trying to ruin his happiness after breaking his heart. Kitty is surprised that Min-ho said she broke her heart. Kitty insists she was only looking out for him. After her fallout with Min-ho, Kitty vents to Peter and he asks her to stop second-guessing herself and continue to protect the people she cares about.

The scene cuts to Stella at the cyber, listening to Min-ho and Mr Moon’s conversation in his office. Unsurprisingly, she planted a recorder in the antique watch she gifted Mr Moon.

The Episode Review

Stella is so manipulative. If only Min-ho would listen to Kitty and open his eyes. At this point, I think it is less about Kitty being right and more about his ego. He is not ready to admit that he got played. He is not ready to admit that he is still in love with Kitty. It sucks to see them fight, especially since Kitty is right.

On the other hand, with Jin’s injury, he might feel jealous of Q and act out. Hopefully, he is mature enough to deal with his emotions without taking it out on Q. It was  also so nice to see Peter! Don’t you miss seeing him and Lara Jean? We need a new movie about their relationship. Netflix needs to give us a wedding movie of the two in a few years. Also, don’t forget to check Noah in the upcoming season 2 of The Recruit.
