Episode 7
Episode 7 of Who is She begins with Mr. Park nearly losing his balance with the taxi driver behind him. We then jump to the present, where Mr. Park, now a younger version of himself, goes by the name Park Joon. Du-ri is relieved to have her friend back after being unable to locate him for some time.
Meanwhile, Daniel decides to capitalize on Du-ri and Ha-na’s recent popularity by changing the new group’s concept to Retro, remaking their debut song.
At home, Kkeut-soon begins living with Mal-soon’s family, despite Du-ri’s reservations. She discovers a photo album containing an old picture of the twins with their mother, but both Kkeut-soon and their mother’s faces are scratched out. Elsewhere, Kim Ae-sim recalls a moment when Mal-soon visited her to confront how Ae-sim had trampled on her dreams.
Later, Kkeut-soon, posing as Mal-soon, confronts Mal-soon’s son-in-law, Min-seok. She orders him to investigate the woman in her 60s that he had mentioned Jin-seok meeting or, alternatively, pay rent.
Meanwhile, we see that Park Joon has become a rising ssireum star. A flashback reveals that he was a popular fighter during his youth.
The company finally decides to break its silence and give Ha-na and Du-ri another chance, thanks to their recent talent showcase, which gained public attention. Back at home, Kkeut-soon racks her brains trying to figure out who the woman in her 60s might be. She realizes there are no photos of Ji-seok’s father before his supposed death when Ji-sook was still a baby.
Park Joon later turns up at his own guesthouse and begins living there—not before picking a fight with Daniel.
The next day, noticing how inexperienced the female trainees are in love, Du-ri entertains them with her 60 years of knowledge on how to pick the right man. This helps her improve her relationship with her team members. Later, while Daniel is visiting a company to finalize a deal for Ha-na and Du-ri to appear on a show, he senses the presence of his stalker in the men’s washroom—an incident that has happened to him in the past.
Daniel returns home with Joon and Du-ri, leading to an argument between the two as the episode ends.
The Episode Review
It’s quite surprising that Who Is She isn’t just another formulaic rom-com K-drama release, as we’ve seen in the second half of 2024. Instead, it works exceptionally well within its genre. This lighthearted K-drama is a perfect watch for days when you’re experiencing cognitive overload, yet it keeps viewers engaged with its supernatural and heartwarming elements.
This episode confirms that Kkeut-soon and Mal-soon are twins who have been estranged since a young age. However, we still don’t know the circumstances that led to Mal-soon’s strictness toward her sister after 60 years of separation. The mysteries surrounding Kkeut-soon’s return to Korea, her journey to becoming Emily, and her transformation back to her younger self continue to shine as key elements of Who Is She.
Beyond the twins, this episode highlights several heartwarming dynamics: Du-ri and Ha-na, Du-ri and her team members, Ha-na’s attempts to mend her relationship with the group, and Kkeut-soon’s efforts to fix her sister’s family as well as her own relationship with Mal-soon. These interactions add depth to this lighthearted rom-com, ultimately leaving viewers with a sense of feel-good satisfaction at the end of a hard day!
