Where is Sean Combs now? | The hip-hop mogul ‘Diddy’ accused of sexual assault

Sean Combs

What did Sean Combs do?

Sean Combs is an American rapper, record producer and actor who has recently faced allegations of sexual assault made by his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Combs is better known by the stage name Puff Daddy, which was later changed to P Diddy, and he is currently known simply as Diddy. He has won 3 Grammy Awards and 2 MTV Video Music Awards. He is also the founder of the clothing label, Sean John and is estimated to be worth in excess of $1 billion.

In late 2023, Ventura filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against him, which was settled out of court. In the days following this settlement, Combs was hit with 3 more lawsuits, with more allegations of sexual violence spanning from 1990 to 2003. Due to the nature of these allegations, many companies and collaborators have cut ties with the rapper. It has been quite the fall from grace for the hip-hop mogul.

What other allegations have been made?

In April 1999, Combs was charged with assaulting Steve Stoute of Interscope Records. It related to a video they filmed earlier that year for Nas, which Combs thought was blasphemous. He asked for scenes to be cut, but Stoute aired it unedited, so Combs reportedly turned up at his offices and assaulted him.

In May 2017, Cindy Ruela, who was Combs’ personal chef, filed a lawsuit against him, claiming he sexually harassed her. The lawsuit was settled for an undisclosed amount in February 2019.

Sean Combs is 54 years old now and currently resides in Alpine, New Jersey, where he purchased a home for $7 million. He is the father to 7 children. In September 2023, Combs released his sixth studio album The Love Album: Off the Grid.

In November 2023, Macy’s announced that they were pulling all Sean John clothing from its department and online stores in response to the allegations made against him. Hulu also decided to cancel production on a planned reality series based on Combs and his family.

In December 2023, Combs’ invitation to the 66th Annual Grammy Awards in February 2024 was reportedly being reconsidered. It has since been confirmed that Combs will not attend the 2024 Grammy Awards
