What did Christian Longo do?

Christian Longo is a murderer who killed his wife and three children in Oregon in December 2001. The body of 4-year-old Zachary Longo was found on the 19th of December 19, 2001. Divers later found the body of 3-year-old Sadie on the 22nd of December in the Pacific Ocean. This was followed by the discovery of Longo’s wife, Mary Jane, and their 2-year-old daughter, Madison, fuve days later.

Mary Jane’s nude dead body had been put in suitcases near a ramp at Embarcadero Marina on the 27th of December 2001. Madison was then discovered inside a different suitcase on the same day. An autopsy revealed Sadie and Zachary were killed by asphyxiation, while Mary Jane Longo and Madison had been strangled to death in a horrific quadruple murder. 

How was Christian Longo caught?

After the murders, Longo fled to Cancun, Mexico. On the 28th of December, a federal arrest warrant was issued, charging him with murder. He left a hotel he was staying at on the 7th of January, 2002, and was caught six days later in a small town. He was handed over to the U.S. authorities at George Bush Intercontinental Airport on the 14th of January, and he was sentenced to death in 2003

Where is Christian Longo now? 

Longo was imprisoned and on death row at Oregon State Penitentiary. His death sentence was commuted to life without parole, along with everyone else on Death Row in Oregon by Governor Kate Brown. 

Longo had used the name of a former New York Times reporter, Michael Finkel, while on the run in Mexico, and he later met with Longo and wrote about his experiences with him in his memoir, True Story, which was adapted into a movie starring James Franco as Longo and Jonah Hill as Finkel.
