What happened to Lue Yang and Se Vang?

Tragedy struck just after Christmas in Fresno County, when a 14-year-old boy reportedly shot and killed his parents, Lue Yang and Se Vang. The teenager is also said to have critically wounded his younger sister.

Police arrived at the murder scene at the 4700 block of Dunlap Road, near Miramonte, on the 27th of December 2023. 2 adults were found dead of multiple gunshot wounds, and an 11-year-old girl was found badly injured. The boy charged with the crimes had made the call to the police to report an intruder being responsible for the brutal attack.

Did the police believe the intruder story?

However, police were not convinced by his story and arrested him for the double murder. A 7-year-old boy who was the son of the victims was also at the scene but was left uninjured and is now being taken care of by relatives.

Since the suspect is a minor, his name hasn’t been revealed, and the Fresno County Sheriff has stated the case is an ongoing investigation. The police are still trying to work out the motive behind the murders. The unnamed teenager has been charged with 2 counts of murder and 1 count of attempted murder.

Where is the teenage suspect now?

The teenage suspected murderer of Lue Yang and Se Vang is being held at a juvenile hall while he awaits a trial date.

Yang and Vang didn’t have life insurance and their big extended family is now trying to raise $60,000 to pay for their funerals and the medical costs incurred by the injured daughter. Not to mention the funds needed to care for the orphaned children. More than $11,000 has been donated so far by well-wishers.

The family is part of the Hmong community, who are an ethnic minority from southern China and northern Vietnam.
