Vengeance Most Fowl (2025) Ending Explained – Does Feathers get the diamond?

Vengeance Most Fowl Plot Summary

Clocking in at just over 70 minutes, the movie sees Wallace and Gromit struggling to pay the bills. Wallace is becoming ever-more dependant on technology too and his latest, Norbot, could be their saving grace. This  smart gnome is designed to do all the jobs himself and he makes quite the stir around the community. Unfortunately, this plays out about as well as can be expected, as Wallace bites off more than he can chew.

All of this is complicated further though by the return of the dastardly penguin, Feathers McGraw. He’s been biding his time behind bars, stuck at the zoo, and he soon finds his opportunity arise when the Norbot robots make the news.

What follows from here is a race against time, as Wallace and Gromit try to stop Feathers from achieving his ultimate goal – obtaining the blue diamond once more.

What happens at the Blue Diamond Exhibition?

The Blue Diamond Exhibition is a big deal and is supposed to be the swansong for Chief Inspector Mackintosh’s career. Everything here is set up for a grand finale, as the Chief presents the Diamond, back where it should be in the museum. Only… there’s a problem. It turns out the diamond itself has been replaced by a turnip and the Chief has never bothered to check it all these years. So what does that mean? Well, Wallace has had the diamond this whole time!

Funnily enough, this diamond happens to be located inside the old teapot, and has been this whole time. Feathers stashed it there before being arrested, having switched it while Wallace and Gromit were waiting for the police to arrive. The real play here was to make Wallace take the fall as the Evil Inventor while he gets away scot-free with the diamond.

How is the climax set up?

Feathers and his army of Evil Blue Norbots hold Wallace and Gromit up hostage, while the Chief and Mukhurjee decide to try and right this wrong. They head off to save our favourite duo and stop Feathers before it’s too late. Funnily enough, the bike saddle thief has struck again, meaning the Chief has to go on the back of the bike.

Wallace and Gromit work together and free themselves, joining up with the good Norbot (the green one) to catch up to Feathers. A brief chase ensues on the canal, and just like in the Wrong Trousers, instead of fast-moving trains, we get a slow-paced “sprint” along the canal. It’s a lovely humorous contrast to 1993’s Wrong Trousers and works really well to satirize the chases seen in action movies too.

How does Wallace help turn the tide?

Wallace gets his mojo back and creates a new invention, using some boots as boomerangs. These manages to hit the reset buttons on the Norbots to turn them good again. However, in the process, Feathers ends up attaching a motorboat engine to his canal and zooms off. Gromit though manages to attach a rope to the back and get swept along for the ride.

At the end of this big chase, Gromit ends up hanging on the edge of a large bridge with the cancal for dear life. Feathers manages to get away with the diamond, jetting off on a steam engine, while Wallace realizes what he’s almost lost in his pursuit for more technology. He calls Gromit his best pal and all the Norbots work together to save Gromit just in time.

How does Vengeance Most Fowl end?

In a  nice little twist, it turns out Gromit as played Feathers in the end, switching the diamond with a turnip just like he did all those years ago, leaving the villain with nothing. The penguin ends up leaving empty-handed – on a train no less – with nothing but his freedom.

Wallace and Gromit are off the hook thanks to all of this transpiring, while Mukherjee shows her credentials and becomes a prolific officer. Feathers is still on the loose and has donned a number of different disguises, but the police appear to be on top of this. The Chief gets his reputation back too, and retires with word that he’s a “model policeman”. However, he doesn’t lose his instincts, even in retirement.

As for Wallace, he learns his lesson… kinda. He’s still got all his inventions and loves technology, but similarly also knows that there’s nothing like the old fashioned human touch. As he pats Gromit, the pair appear to have a good balance in their lives for once. But Feathers is still out there…
