Wake Up, Carlo! – Season 1 Episode 11 Recap & Review

It’s Gonna Be Alright

Episode 11 of Wake Up, Carlo! begins with the announcement that King Blaus and Madame Bruguel have tied the knot. Following that, we see that she is equally obsessed with social media as he is. To make matters worse, it appears as though she only married King Blaus for social media purposes.

The scene then shifts to Carlo and his friends, who are attempting to escape the abyss. However, the whale eventually sacrifices itself to the abyss to save Carlo and his friends. They are initially devastated by the whale’s death. However, they eventually forget about it as the whale disappears into the abyss.

King Blaus can be seen missing Carlo as he served as his fierce and artistic adversary. He misses the rush of competition without him. Soon after, we see Madame Bruguel gradually taking King Blaus’ place. She first makes his most reliable advisor disappear and then makes Blaus disappear as well.

Meanwhile, Carlo and his friends reach the edge of the abyss. They eventually find their belongings, which are linked to memories that King Blaus had discarded. Following that, Tatiana tells the story of how she met Carlo and how the only thing she’s ever been attached to is him.

The creatures construct an aircraft out of their abandoned possessions. Following that, they are attacked by the sinister fog. Carlo, his friends, and the creatures attempt to escape the sinister fog using the aircraft they built, and the episode comes to a close.

The Episode Review

This episode is quite thrilling and entertaining. Carlo and his friends’ storyline, in which they lose a friend to the abyss, is quite moving. It also serves as a metaphor for how we eventually forget people after they pass away, in the sense that their memories fade away.

We also learn that King Blaus is merely a pawn in a larger game, possibly controlled by Madame Bruguel. It’ll be interesting to see how things develop moving forward.
