August is finally here and that means we are in for new BL shows from all over the world.
For the past few months, most BLs have failed to deliver great storylines and acting. Especially, Thai BLs, as it seems they have dropped the ball while Korean BLs have taken over.
Hopefully, this month, we will be blessed with great shows that will keep us glued to our TVs. With that said, let us take a look at the BLs coming our way this month.
Stay Still

This Japanese mini-series tells the story of Jayden who moves into a new place and coincidentally meets Damien. They start a complicated relationship after sharing a casual kiss. There is also Archie who starts an affair with his married high school boyfriend, Kevin. How will this affair end? You will need to tune in to find out.

This is a South Korean series that follows Ba Ram and Han Tae. The two used to attend the same high school and there was an incident that happened. They now meet as adults and start to evaluate if they can be in a relationship.
Heartstopper Season 2

Premiere date: August 3rd 2023
Heartstopper Season 2 is expected to pick up where we left things in the first season. The show follows Charlie and Nick as they deal with the normal things queer teenagers face in high school. Season 1 did a great job showing Nick’s struggle with his sexual identity and Charlie handling the bullying that comes with being out.
Love in Translation

The series tells the story of One, who has dreams to start a business and make it successful. We also meet Another who is trying to win over the heart of his crush. Their different pursuits in life bring them together and thus begins their love story.

This is a Japanese series that explores the contract relationship between Segasaki, a Popular weather forecaster with a tyrant temper and Yoh, an ero-manga artist. They two live together and Yoh has to obey every rule Segasaki comes up with. It is not easy but as things start changing between them, what happens to their contract?

What happens when a British Prince falls for the first son of the United States? Well, we are about to find out on August 11th. The movie is based on Casey McQuiston’s novel and you might want to read it before the movie drops. Many people are already excited to see the chemistry between Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez as they bring their characters to life.
Love Class Season 2

This is one of the anticipated Korean BLs this month. The series tells the tale of a university freshman, Lee Hyun. Hyun is a happy young man who has never experienced falling in love but that soon changes when he meets Kim An.
There is also the story of Joo Hyuk who accidentally has a fling with Sung Min. It is only later that Joo Hyuk realizes that Sung Min is his new class’s teaching assistant.
Lastly, there is Min Woo who is suffering in silence as he has a massive crush on his unemployed best friend Ma Roo.
My Universe

My Universe is a twelve-part anthology series that continues the stories of the characters in the shows below. Each show will have 2 episodes bringing the number of total episodes to 24. These include Marry Go Round, Right Time, Right You, Lucky Love, You Are My Soulmate, Casanova Begins, The Camp Fire, Friends Forever, Fake Love, Pisces of Me,1626, I Wish You Love and Refund Love.
Man Suang

This is the largely anticipated film from Kinnporshe’s lead actors, Apo Nattawin and Mile Phakphum. This historical thriller is about Khem and Wan who hail from Chachoengsao. They are recruited to investigate Man Suang. Man Suang happens to be the most luxurious and mysterious entertainment club in Siam. In the course of their mission, they meet Chatra, a taphon musician. The three of them then delve into a dangerous investigation that might change the history of the kingdom.
