What Happened In Episode 19?
In Undead Unluck Season 1 Episode 19, Fuko recognizes the book as You-Me, a manga that holds a special place in her heart. Juiz shares critical details about the manga and mentions how its events tie directly to their world’s previous affairs. Additionally, Juiz releases details regarding the story’s author Anno Un, and believes his raw manuscripts should still be in Japanese.
She tells Andy and Fuko that she wants them to obtain info on the manuscripts and Anno. Andy tells Fuko that if they’re going to get into Shueisha’s HQ, the publisher behind Anno’s work, they’ll need to create a manga. We receive several scenarios depicting Andy and Fuko working on that task.
During this manga drafting and drawing foray, the other Union members provide our heroes with aid. With her teammates’ support, Fuko completes the manga and titles it, “Undead + Unluck.” Fuko and Andy arrive at Shueisha’s HQ, but Fuko insists Andy stay behind since he doesn’t fit the shojo manga role well, unlike her.
Fuko and a Shueisha worker chat briefly about “Undead + Unluck.” While the worker recognizes the story has its faults and successes, she tells Fuko that it’d be perfect for her to enter it into their upcoming contest. After informing Andy about this successful ordeal, she asks the worker if she can see Anno’s raw You-Me manuscripts.
The worker helps Fuko navigate through the office and looks through the company’s files. She pulls out the manuscript and realizes it’s in Japanese. Fuko informs Andy and Juiz. Realizing her theory about the manga is true, Juiz tells Andy and Fuko to gather more information about Anno. Fuko’s unsure where Anno is located, but she overhears the worker chatting with Anno on her phone.
With Andy’s assistance, Fuko speaks with Anno and tells him she’d like him to read her story. Anno says he’s willing to read it and wants Fuko and Andy to meet him at a bench in Canada’s Stanley Park area. Before our heroes head out, the episode closes with the showrunners stating that Fuko lost her memories inside Shueisha’s HQ.
