TV Premiere Dates 2022 – Your ultimate guide to what’s on

 

It can be tricky to keep track of what’s streaming and where. Well, fret not! We’ve gathered all the biggest and brightest shows from across the globe and added them to a handy, ever-updated list of TV shows. We’ve got anime, k-drama, UK and US releases all sprinkled throughout.

Any duplicate shows on the list (ie. the same show across two consecutive days) are to highlight a different release date depending on country.

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint return for a special HBO Talk show. No word on whether Lord Voldemort will make an appearance yet though.

Around The World In 80 Days (Miniseries) Drama PBS (US Release)
David Tennant helms this 8 episode adaptation of the adventure story originally written by French writer Jules Verne, first published in French in 1872. A UK release is likely to be announced nearer to the time.

Mon/ JANUARY 3

9-1-1: Lone Star Season 3 Drama Fox (US Release)
The third season of this spin-off for 911 returns.
The Cleaning Lady Season 1 Drama Fox (US Release)
An American adaptation of an Argentinian series, The Cleaning Lady is about a doctor who brings her son to the US. Unable to obtain medical attention, she ends up becoming a cleaning lady for the mob.

Tues/ JANUARY 4

Abbott Elementary Season 1 Comedy ABC (US Release)
This new ABC workplace comedy is set in a Philadelphia public school.
Grand Crew Season 1 Comedy NBC (US Release)
Another comedy sitcom, this time revolving around a group of friends who bond at a wine bar. The creator and writer of this show was also involved in Brooklyn Nine-Nine too.
This Is Us Season 6 Drama NBC (US Release)
This emotional rollercoaster is almost over; an 18 episode final series has been ordered to wrap up the emotional arc of the Pearson family.

Weds/ JANUARY 5

Good Sam Season 1 Medical Drama CBS (US Release)
The first 2022 medical drama is a 22 episode drama about a heart surgeon called Dr. Samantha Griffith (played by Sophia Bush). She becomes the top surgeon at Lakeshore, only to find her boss and father, Dr Paul, awakening from a coma and taking his job back.
Rebelde Season 1 Drama Netflix (Worldwide)
Rebelde is an upcoming Mexican TV series based on the telenovela of the same name. It’s also loosely based on the telenovela Rebelde Way.

Thurs/ JANUARY 6

Women of the Movement Season 1 Period Drama ABC (US Release)
Released in batches of two episodes across three weeks, Women of the Movement retells the true story of Mamie Till-Mobley and her quest for justice. The catalyst for this is her 14 year old son being lynched in Mississippi 1955.

Sun/ JANUARY 9th

Attack On Titan Season 4 (part 2) Anime Crunchyroll (Worldwide)
Funimation (Worldwide)
Hulu

Part 2 of Attack on Titan will resume right off the back of the big cliffhanger last season. Episode 17 is titled “Judgement.” and looks set to ignite this final season in a flurry of action and drama.
All Creatures Great and Small Season 2 Period Drama
PBS (US Release)
The second season of this popular period drama returns to PBS tonight, after an earlier run in the UK during the latter half of 2021.
Pivoting Season 1 Comedy Fox (US Release)
This comedy follows three women dealing with the death of their childhood friend. Haha? Anyway, the friends set off and make “impulsive, ill-advised and self-indulgent decisions.” After tonight’s premiere, the show moves to Thursday evening slots at 9.30pm.
The Righteous Gemstones Season 2 Drama HBO (US Release)
After a lengthy delay thanks to a certain virus doing the rounds, Righteous Gemstones finally returns after its successful first season.
Euphoria Season 2 Drama HBO (US Release)
The second season to 2019’s excellent teen drama finally releases after several specials last year, bridging the gap for what should be a thrilling and intoxicating season.

This popular Belgian crime drama returns for its third season following a cliffhanger ending to season 2. Expect plenty more *ahem* undercover action to occur.

Naomi Season 1 Superheroes
CW (US Release)
Alongside Superman & Lois on the superhero front, Naomi is the newest heroine to jump on the superhero train that doesn’t look like slowing down any time soon.
Superman & Lois Season 2 Superheroes CW (US Release)
Superman & Lois returns for its eagerly awaited second season, following a very solid and impressive run last year.

Thurs / JANUARY 13th

Peacemaker Season 1 Superheroes
HBO Max (US Release)
Following his arrival in last year’s Suicide Squad remake/sequel-of-sorts, Peacemaker receives an 8 episode order to explore the origins of this character. Gunn himself is actually writing the entire series and directing multiple episodes too. 
The Journalist Season 1 Drama Netflix (Worldwide)

The Journalist is a 10 episode TV adaptation of the Japanese drama The Journalist. Anna Matsuda is the central focus here and she works as a well-respected journalist, using her beliefs to discover the truth of every story. Anna makes it her priority to expose corruption at every turn.

Archive 81 Season 1 Horror Netflix (Worldwide)
This is an 8 episode adaptation of the found-footage horror podcast of the same name. This is also produced by James Wan!
The House Season 1 Anthology Netflix (Worldwide)
A unique stop-motion animated anthology. This first season includes three dark and surreal tales centering on three generations of a family who have lived in the same house. Expect some serious Years & Years vibes from this!

Britannia Season 3 Period Drama Epix (US release)
The third season of Britannia releases on Epix nearly half a year after it initially dropped in the UK.
Two Sentence Horror Stories Season 3 Drama CW (US Release)
The third season of CW’s horror anthology.

Fri / JANUARY 21st

As We See It Season 1 Comedy/Drama Amazon Prime (Worldwide)
Based on the Israeli series of the same name, Amazon’s new dramedy focuses on a trio of roommates who are on the autism spectrum.
Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock Season 1 Family AppleTV+ (Worldwide)
Alas it continues; another reboot is on the offing. This time it comes from the beloved 1980’s TV show from The Jim Henson Company. Expect 13 episodes from this one.
Ozark Season 4: Part 1 Crime Drama
Netflix (Worldwide)
Continuing Netflix’s new strategy of staggering releases, Ozark’s scheduled 14 episodes will arrive in two parts, with the first 7 episodes dropping today and the other 7 later in the year.
Servant Season 3 Horror/Mystery AppleTV+ (Worldwide)
The third season of Apple’s unnerving, artistic (and ever so slightly overlong) horror series returns to pick up the story where it left off. There are scheduled to be four seasons in total so expect some answers to (finally) be explored here.

Mon / JANUARY 24th

The Gilded Age Season 1 Period Drama HBO (US Release)
Set in 1880’s America, HBO’s newest period drama is a 9-part series from Downtown Abbey creator Julian Fellowes. Expect a window into the moneyed class.
Promised Land Season 1 Comedy ABC (US Release)
ABC’s new Latinx soap is set in California’s Sonoma Valley 
Snowpiercer Season 3 Sci-fi/Drama TNT (US Release)
The third season of the movie adaptation continues the exploits of the Snowpiercer. Expect more word on the shocking reveal of the world warming up and a potential reveal for a new big-bad of the season too.

Tues/ JANUARY 25th

The Gilded Age Season 1  Period Drama Sky Atlantic (UK Release)
The UK release for The Gilded Age drops a day later than it does on HBO (unless you watch this live at 2am (GMT) of course.)
Snowpiercer Season 3 Sci-fi/Drama
Netflix (Worldwide)
Snowpiercer releases on Netflix at 8am(GMT) for the rest of the world a day after it initially drops on TNT in the US.

Fri/ JANUARY 28th

The Afterparty Season 1  Murder Mystery  AppleTV+ (Worldwide)
Apple’s take on 2021’s wildly popular Only Murders in the Building sees a blend of comedy and murder mystery take place once more, A high school reunion with a different character perspective each chapter; three episodes drop today, followed by one episode a week.
How I Met Your Father Season 3 Drama
Hulu (US Release)
Hilary Duff fronts this gender-reverse premise from How I Met Your Mother as the endless array of reboots, sequels and remakes doesn’t look like slowing down any time soon.
In From The Cold Season 1 Thriller Hulu (US Release)
Produced by Adam Glass (Supernatural, The Chi), In From the Cold is an 8 episode spy thriller series.

Weds / MARCH 8th

Kung Fu Season 2 Sci-fi / Comedy CW (US Release)
Kung Fu returns for a second season, shedding any identity of the 70’s show of the same name and kicking into a continuation of this teen drama.

Thurs / MARCH 9th

The Orville: New Horizons (Season 3) Sci-fi / Comedy Hulu (US Release)
Seth McFarlane’s Star Trek spoof finally returns for its eagerly awaited third season after an agonizing 3 year hiatus, finding a new home away from Cancellation City (Fox) and onto Hulu.

Fri / SEPTEMBER 2nd

The Lord Of The Rings Prequel Fantasy Amazon Prime (Worldwide)
The eagerly awaited Lord of the Rings prequel takes place in the “Second Age,” thousands of years prior to the events of The Hobbit.
