Who is William Allen Jordan?

William Allen Jordan is a CIA agent. Except he’s not. Yet that is the lie he told one of his wives when he went to extreme lengths to hide his true identity.

In reality, Jordan was an American citizen living in the UK who worked as an IT specialist.

Who did William Allen Jordan marry?

William Allen Jordan married his first wife, Julie Cunningham, in 1992. They lived in Edinburgh and had two children together.

In 2000, Jordan began an online relationship with Mary Turner Thomson, who also lived in Edinburgh. As Mary got to know him better, she began to suspect he was married to somebody else. When she tracked down his place of business she discovered it was his family home, though he told her the house and his wife were cover for his work with the CIA. (source)

She believed his lie and married Jordan in 2002. He was away for long periods of time, which he explained was because of CIA business. Mary had little idea that he was actually going back to his first wife who equally had no idea that he had gotten married a second time.

Jordan communicated with Mary using a CIA web address and used fake British RAF base passes and government emails to trick her into believing his elaborate story. They were married for 6 years, during which time he conned her out of £200,000.

Mary wasn’t the only “other woman” in Jordan’s life. He also fathered two children to her nanny and had a relationship with a lady named Denise King in Blackpool, which began in 2005.

How did William Allen Jordan get caught?

Jordan was caught when Denise became suspicious of him after he failed to repay the £4500 she had loaned him. After she called the police, Jordan was arrested and later sentenced for multiple crimes at Oxford Crown Court in 2006. These crimes included bigamy, obtaining funds by deception, failing to register as a sex offender (he had sexually assaulted an underage girl in 1997) and illegal possession of a stun gun.

Jordan served two and a half years in prison and was deported back to the US in 2009. While in the States, he wooed and defrauded a Florence woman named Michele Lewis. He was sent back to prison in 2014 for a 3-year sentence after being charged with theft by deception, sexual assault, and impersonating law enforcement.
