What happened to Benjamin Foster?

Episode 1 of Worst Ex Ever shines a chilling spotlight on a man named Benjamin Foster.
The synopsis for the episode reads:
“Justine’s alarming call to a friend leads to a shocking discovery and a statewide police hunt for Ben, a recent partner with a monstrous dating history.”

What did Benjamin Foster do?
Benjamin Foster was a violent criminal who was abusive towards the women he dated. We hear from some of these women in Worst Ex Ever, including Amber, who met Benjamin in Las Vegas in the summer of 2012.
She and Benjamin dated for over a year before they moved in together. At first, their relationship seemed perfectly normal, but Amber began to notice that Benjamin had a jealous streak. This became apparent when Benjamin started to become visibly upset when she tried to help an ex-partner stay in the country.
Benjamin became violent two years into their relationship. After Amber threw away a gun he had bought, he went into a blind rage and hit her. After Amber reported the attack to the police, he was ordered to attend domestic violence counselling.
Unfortunately, the counselling didn’t curb Benjamin’s violent behaviour. In the documentary, we hear from another woman, Jaimee, who discovered his aggressive side during her relationship with him. He became increasingly possessive of her and controlled her every movement. At one point, he forcibly shaved her head so no man would think she was pretty.
Jaimee managed to free herself from the relationship, quite literally, when she jumped from the car they were both in after being held captive by him for 16 days.
Another woman who was held captive by Benjamin was Justine Siemens, who he confined to her home in 2022. He beat her badly and left her close to death. She survived his attacks but her life will never be the same as the injuries he caused left her with a traumatic brain injury.
What happened to Benjamin Foster?
Benjamin Foster’s reign of terror came to an end in 2023 when the Jackson County SWAT team and Grants Pass police surrounded the house he was taking refuge in. Instead of handing himself in to the authorities, he decided to take his own life by shooting himself in the head.
While Benjamin Foster is no longer able to physically hurt anybody else, those he abused are still left with the traumatic memories of what they endured during their relationships with him.
