Trash Boat angrily forces their points, pushing for a revolution when revolutions are so rare these days. The band has always been enraged by the world and its pitfalls, and on Heaven Can Wait they tell us tales of strife and broken faith. In a matter of minutes, the act makes sense, describing their pain and sorrow while they scream and shudder.
Crushing choruses and emphatic guitar lines interweave. Tthe act does not hold back as they break the norm and dazzle on this release. The lyrics are dark and filled in with intelligent words which have the power to provoke responses. By ditching the trends and the fads, the band has made such a statement.
‘Burn’ begins like a crash. The instrumentals are thunderous, and the screams deploy energy. It’s a brilliant, well-versed track.
‘Better Than Yesterday’ evolves and builds. It’s surprisingly subtle at the beginning until the guitars intervene. It is a song about losing the will and hope. All the protagonist wants is love and a better existence.
‘Break You’ begins with screaming and emotion. The band restores the raucousness, and the anger burns. The act wants to break someone down, and death is on the mind.
‘The Drip’ opens with a monologue. A statement of intention, and the grooves are infectious. The band yet again look for a bright light in the darkness, while shouting about the world’s failings.
Trash Boat makes their feelings clear on Heaven Can Wait. It’s an album of substance and intent.
