Season 2 Episode 12 Recap
The recap of the season finale i.e. Episode 12 of T・P Bon Season 2 titled “Time Patrol Bon” starts with the Dimension Ball going haywire between different timelines.
What happened to Ream?
Bon chases the Dimension Ball and informs Yumi that Ream is trapped inside it. Bon follows the Dimension Ball as it creates multiple tears in different timelines, creating several holes in the fabric of reality. This threatens to lead to the destruction of the universe.
Bon tells Yumi that the Dimension Ball was creating a reverse time flow just as Ream speaks to them from inside the ball. She tells him that she is trapped inside the ball and does not know how to steer the object or to make it stop from destroying the universe.
Ream tells Bon that she found the Dimension Ball in Mohenjodaro, 2500 B.C. when she tried to fix a hole in the timeline. However, Bon is sucked by the space-time vortex current. This leads to him losing contact with Ream.
How does Bon try to save Ream?
Bon contacts Yumi and Buyoyon and calls them to Mohenjodaro 2500 B.C. at the same time as Ream initially found the home in the universe. She talks to the inventor of the ball who warns her about going close to the object. Without listening to the inventor’s warning, Ream enters the Dimension Ball.
Bon, Yumi and Buyoyon try to yell and stop Ream from entering the object but she cannot hear her and gets trapped inside. Bon arrests the inventor and alerts the Criminal Investigation Unit. Buyoyon and Bon refuse to go back in time to stop Ream from entering the ball as it would drastically alter reality. Bon looks at the Data Analysis report to check the different holes created by the Dimension Ball.
Bon and Buyoyon decide to follow the holes to find the location of the Dimension Ball while Yumi waits until the inventor is arrested. Yumi asks the inventor why he invented the object.
Who is Agent Rosa? How does she disappear?
On the other hand, the other Time Patrol agents from the Handling Unit follow the different holes made across various timelines due to the malfunctioning Dimension Ball. Agent Rosa goes close to the Dimension Ball and Yumi spots her mentor from inside the ball.
She wonders if the Dimension Ball caused Rosa to go missing. Rosa comes close to the Dimension Ball, falling off her time boat as she ends up missing from the current timeline.
What happens to the inventor of the Dimension Ball?
The inventor tells Yumi that he created the Dimension Ball to try and generate the same energy as the Dimentron. The Dimentron is a medium that helps one move across timelines just like time boats and timeceivers. The inventor confesses that his miscalculations caused the object to malfunction and adds that he does not know how to stop the object.
Agent Gayler and the other agents show up to arrest the inventor for breaking the Time Navigation Law and take him to punish him. The inventor tells the agents that the ball will self-destruct when it crashes, which shocks Yumi. He also tells the agents that Ream will be wiped out of the universe as she is inside the ball.
How does Bon find Ream? How does he save his mentor?
Meanwhile, Bon and Buyoyon watch as other agents from different timelines try to recover from the destruction caused by Dimension Ball. Gayler asks Bon to stop immediately and asks him to return to headquarters. Bon ignores the warning and tries to find a way to save his mentor. Buyoyon realises that it can use Dimentron to track the Dimension Ball’s journey.
Yumi joins Bon and Buyoyon as they catch up on the ball. From inside the ball, Ream tells Bon that the Dimension Ball has been following a pattern and heading to the future. Yumi hears the ball beeping and informs Bon and Ream that the inventor had designed the ball to self-destruct. Buyoyon declares that the ball is going to explode.
Does Ream survive the explosion?
Bon uses Compressed Learning to figure out where the Dimension Ball would land on the occasion of a crash. Ream is ready to die but Bon, Buyoyon and Yumi decide that the only way to save Ream is by pulling her outside the ball mid-explosion. Bon and Yumi use their timeceivers to pause and rewind time. Bon goes through the timeline to save Ream while Yumi unpauses time.
Ream thanks Bon, who instead thanks her for mentoring her well. Later, Gayler tells Bon and Yumi that the Dimension Ball case has finally been closed. He also adds that Ream was able to find Rosa. Gayler tells the agents that they’re temporarily suspended due to violating his orders. He states that the trouble caused due to this violation will be examined before the Time Patrol agents determine if they deserve to be punished by having their memories erased.
Are Bon and Yumi fired? How does T・P Bon Season 2 end?
As the days go by, Bon and Yumi go about their regular lives. Bon narrates how he was an average person all his life until being made a time patrol agent. One day after school, Bon sits on the tree from the first episode of Season 1. Yumi finds him there and asks him to cheer up. Just then, Bon and Yumi get a call from Gayler.
Gayler informs Bon and Yumi that the damage caused by the explosion of the Dimension Ball is minimal and since they helped save Ream, the Time Patrol department are willing to forgive them. Gayler sends Bon and Yumi on a new mission with Buyoyon accompanying them as the season comes to an end. Now that we are done explaining the ending of T・P Bon Season 2, let us head to the review.
The Episode Review
This season seems like a continuation of the first but the way things have ended in T. P. Bon Season 2, there is little to no room for a renewal of this anime. Throughout the 24 episodes across both seasons, Ream, Bon and Yumi have taken viewers across multiple timelines, solving problems and saving multiple important historical figures.
This episode, just like the others, gave us more insight into the world of time travel and into the commitment that Time Patrol agents have in their quest to save lives. However, I wish there we had more information about the Dimension Ball and its origin as well as an insight into how the device malfunctioned.
If the show is ever renewed for another season, we can expect Bon, Ream and Yumi to go on more adventures across the world and across different timelines from the past, present and future.
