Tower of God – Season 2 Episode 6 “Zygaena’s Flowers” Recap & Review

Zygaena’s Flowers

Our recap and review of Tower of God Season 2, Episode 6 begins with Yihwa meeting two of Viole’s FUG partners: Ha Jinsung, later revealed to be Viole’s master, and another FUG member, Hwa Ryun, who had found him after he fell off the Tower.

The two then meet Viole’s teammates, and Jinsung surprisingly appears friendly. However, after he leaves, Hwa Ryun reveals that the higher executives in FUG desire a stronger team for Viole, which is why Jinsung had visited them—to kill them and get Viole a new team. She adds that Viole is destined to kill King Zahard.

In the world of the ‘Tower of God,’ Zahard became a king by entering into a contract with the administrators, binding every regular to the contract and making it impossible for them to kill Zahard. However, since Viole is an irregular, he’s the only one who can kill Zahard, as the FUG desires. Viole has been threatened by the FUG to climb the Tower as a Slayer, with the lives of Bam’s former teammates hanging in the balance should he fail.

Wangnan realizes that Viole is a good person, climbing the Tower to save his friends. Meanwhile, Yihwa’s secret is that despite being from a royal family, she’s unable to control her firepower. Akraptor figures out her weakness but comments that as long as Viole is around, it won’t be much of a problem.

The next day, the group faces their first test as a team, where they must find a rare flower inside the body of a marine creature called Zygaena, the Deep-Sea Fish, which is revered as a god by the people of the 21st floor. The team is divided into two and enters the creature’s body through two openings—one in the back and the other in the stomach. They must stay alert because the creature rotates its body every 30 minutes.

Inside the creature, the team encounters various parasites and other inhabitants, along with the rare flower. While Akraptor, Miseng, Goseng, and Wangnan try to retrieve a flower by following a pig-like creature, the rest of the team faces a new obstacle—a high ranker is hiding inside the creature, and it seems the test administrators might have just sent them all to their deaths.
