Painted Room

As this level begins, you will find yourself at the double doors that you opened at the end of the last level.

Move forward and when you get to the steps, climb up onto the ledge to your left and run down to the end. Turn left, follow the passageway, and then turn right into a room with painted walls. From the entrance, run straight ahead to the block in front of you (see image above) and pull it to reveal an opening. 

Go through the opening, kill the panther, and climb the steps. At the top of the steps is a small medipack.

Go back into the painted room and pull the block to the right of the opening. There’s nothing valuable to find here but if you want to get all the kills in the game, you’ll have the opportunity to kill another panther. 

Pull the block near the top left corner of the room and drop down into the room beyond. There’s a panther in here – don’t let it eat you – and a switch. The switch opens a door into the area pictured below.

Climb up onto the pillar to the left of the switch to find a small medipack.

Lift yourself up onto the ledge and enter the room pictured above. Climb onto the lower and higher block and then jump to the opening at the left of the room. Jump onto the ledge to your left and walk around it to find some magnum ammo. From here, you can drop down into the painted room.

Pull the last block and dive into the water to enter the area beyond. Swim into a new room containing a crocodile. Climb onto one of the ledges to shoot the croc from a safe distance and then drop back down into the water to find the sapphire key, magnum ammo, and small medipack. 

Once you have found the items, return to the painted room. Use the sapphire key on the lock in the passageway near the entrance to open a raised door in the painted room. Use one of the blocks to climb up to the room and go through. 

You’ll come to a room with some chairs. You don’t have an opportunity to sit down and relax, however, as there is a mummy in here that you need to deal with.

At the bottom left opening is a switch. Pull it to lower a drawbridge in the room with the tall pillar (see image). This is one of four drawbridges that need to be lowered in this level. 

Go through the other opening and onto the drawbridge. Here, you can pick up the Eye of Horus. When you have picked it up, you will be alerted to an underwater door. This can’t be opened until you have found all four artifacts. 

From the drawbridge, jump into the water below and pick up the magnum ammo. On the ledge surrounding the pillar you will also find shotgun ammo. After picking this up, head through the doorway at the left of the image pictured above. 


Tall Room

Slide down the ramp and into the Tall Room. In here are two panthers so it’s best to stand on the entrance step and take them out safely. 

At the end of the room are some steps (pictured). Climb up these and then lift yourself up onto the platform above you. Turn around and jump to the platform in the corner of the room.

Turn around again and do a running jump up to the ledge above the first platform. Turn left and jump over both gaps to get to a ledge with a small medipack.

Pick the health item up and either drop down into the opening to battle with some mummies or return to the ledge above the first platform. If you take the first option, you will need to backtrack into the room to start the climb upwards again.

When you’re back on the ledge, jump up onto the next ledge above you. From here, do running jumps onto all of the ledges, going all the way around the room until you arrive at the position in the image above. 

Lift yourself onto the block and then up onto the ledge above you. Jump across all the ledges in front of you until you come to the raised platform. Jump up onto this and pull the switch to the left of the stairs. This will lower another drawbridge. 

There’s a mummy on the stairs so kill it before it kills you. Before you go up the stairs, drop down onto the fenced ledge by the switch and pick up the magnum ammo and small medipack. When you have these, return to the stairs.

At the top of the stairs is an empty room with a hole in the top left corner. Drop down the hole and onto a ramp to begin a slide down to the room below.


Step Room 1

In the alcove to your right is a switch so pull that to turn the ramp into steps (see image above). 

Before you climb the steps, deal with the panther that attacks you from the other side of the room and pick up the magnum ammo.

Climb up onto the fourth step and then jump to the ledge on your left to pick up the shotgun ammo. Go back to the steps and climb up one more (fifth step). 

Jump to the ledge to your left and then go through the opening back into the drawbridge room. On the steps to your right is a large medipack. At the end of the steps is a switch so pull this to lower a drawbridge you come to later. 

Drop down onto the ledge behind you and then go through the opening behind the raised drawbridge. 


Block Room

Head down the blocks to the bottom of the room and take care of the mummies. If you shoot at them from an elevated position, you’ll avoid damage. With the mummies out of the way, you will have less to worry about later.

Climb the blocks again and at the top of the steps, climb onto the ledge to your right. Turn to your right to be in the position where Lara is in the image above. 

Shimmy your way along the ledge to the right of Lara. Keep moving right until you can lift yourself up onto a ledge with a raised platform above it. Climb onto the platform to find the first secret – a large medipack and some magnum ammo.

Follow the passage, jump across two gaps and run to the end of the second ledge. To the right of this is another ledge with shotgun shells on the floor.

When you have the shells, backtrack on yourself and jump the first gap. Then drop down the next gap onto a ledge. Drop down onto a second ledge and hang onto the crevice.

Shimmy to the right until you get to a position where you can climb up. Turn around, drop down again and then shimmy across the next ledge until you’re on the block pictured above. 

Jump across the gap in front of you and go through the opening to your left. There is a switch through here so pull it to lower another drawbridge. 

You can make your way to the bottom of the room now, so do so and then clamber up the blocks again until you’re back in the drawbridge room.

At the end of the drawbridge is another artifact – the Scarab. Do a diagonal jump onto the drawbridge to your right and then do another diagonal jump to the drawbridge on your left. On here is the next artifact – the Ankh.

Make your way back to the Scarab drawbridge and turn left to the steps. At the end is a doorway to your left. Go through and into the second Step Room. 


Step Room 2 and Level Exit

Climb up the steps and at the top, turn right and jump across to the crack in the wall. Shimmy along to your right and then drop down onto the gold blocks.

Follow the blocks around to the left and drop down. Enter the passage with painted figures on the walls and pull the switch.

The switch has turned the slide next to the gold blocks into steps. Climb the steps and kill the mummy in the room at the top.

Pull the switch on the right-hand side of this room to lower the last drawbridge. Then take the small medipack from this room before pulling the switch on the wall. This switch opens the door next to you. 

Go through the doorway and into the room with the hole you fell down earlier. Take the steps next to this room, turn right, and then walk across the leafy ledge. 

Turn to your right and face the blue pillar (see image above). Take a running jump and grab onto the edge of the pillar. Climb up and take the second secret – a small medipack and uzi ammo.

From here, take a running jump to the block with the silver statue. Behind the statue is the third secret – uzi ammo and a large medipack. 

Drop down to the right of the statue (from the position where your face is to the wall) and make your way to the drawbridge with the last artifact – the Seal of Anubis

The underwater door has now opened so jump into the pool below and go through the newly-opened doorway. Swim along the tunnel and pick up the various items you find under the water.

Keep swimming until you get to a room with a mummy. Kill it and then climb up onto the leafy ledge to pick up the magnum ammo.

Drop down with your face to the wall and climb up to the passage on your right (pictured above). Stand on the ledge at the end, kill the mummy and then enter the room.

On the left of the room, behind the sand pile, is a large medipack. On the right of the room, are some blocks that return you to the area with the Sphinx. 

When you return to this area, place the artifacts you found into the Obelisk. A large doorway will open up so head through here to exit the level.
