Tokyo Vice Season 2 Episode 8

HBO has brought Tokyo Vice back for another season. The engrossing crime drama delivered the goods in its first outing, thanks to an immersive portrait of the Japanese underworld.

Ansel Elgort and Ken Watanabe lead the cast once again in Season 2, which has now made its debut. JT Rogers is returning to the fore as the showrunner, while the director’s chair gets a clean slate. Season 2 has been in sublime form over the course of its run till now.

Rogers and team have masterfully extracted the potential from Season 1 to set up the stage in a significantly meaningful fashion. The plot is getting more complex and fascinating as we knock down the episodes and approach the finale in a month’s time.

We are excited to bring you coverage of all the episodes in Season 2 with episodic recaps and preview articles for each new episode, assisting you to keep up with the unfolding drama.

Here is everything you need to know about Tokyo Vice Season 2 Episode 8, including its release date, time, and where you can watch this.

Where Can I Watch Tokyo Vice Season 2?

Tokyo Vice Season 2 will be exclusively available to watch on HBO Max and HBO Go for our readers in the US, Latin America, and other major geographies in Europe. However, in Japan, the show will be streaming on Wowow. Elsewhere, for our readers in France, Canal+ will host the second season. Paramount+ will be distributing the show for the Australian continent.

Our readers in India can watch the show on Jio Cinema, who have an exclusive tie-up for HBO’s streaming and legacy content. The position of Season 2’s release is unclear at the moment for the UK and Ireland. While the first season is available to watch on BBC’s iPlayer, Starzplay had the first-window rights for that season. Expect the new episodes to come out on either of these platforms.

Tokyo Vice Season 2 Episode 8 Release Date

Tokyo Vice Season 2 Episode 8 will be released on Thursday, 21st March at 9 pm (ET)/(PT). Expect the runtime to be roughly 51 minutes or thereabouts, which is consistent with the time frame for the first season. With more episodes, it is unlikely that the runtime will breach the hour mark on too many occasions like in the first season.

The show will stick to a weekly release schedule after the first two episodes have aired, tugging the Thursday airings at the same time mentioned above. Only a single episode will be released each week until the finale airs on 4 April.

The title for the new episode of Tokyo Vice isn’t clear yet. HBO is releasing them on the day of airing. The episode will be available to stream with subtitles on Max. Its plot summary is also currently not available.

How Many Episodes Will Tokyo Vice Have?

Tokyo Vice Season 2 will have a total of 10 episodes. This is an increase from the number in the previous season which had 8. After the eighth episode has aired, there will be 2 more episodes left in the series. HBO is not expected to make any scheduling changes. But in case that happens, we will update our readers through these weekly preview articles.

What happened in Episode 7?

Episode 7 of Tokyo Vice’s new season takes some great strides in terms of storytelling. Katagiri and Nagata get some important breakthroughs in their pursuit of Tozawa. The duo also faces stirring downturns as their only witness – the shooter from Hishinuma-kai – is killed by Tozawa while being taken to the courthouse for testifying.

Jake goes back home and is greeted warmly by his family. Jess, his younger sister is perhaps the most excited to see him. All is going well until Katagiri phones him, asking him to check out the Minneapolis hospital where Tozawa got a liver transplant.

Samantha has a tough time adjusting to her newfound fame with the press. She scampers for funds to rebuild her club but finds very few options open. Meanwhile, Hayama’s influence on Kaito grows dangerously as Sato is omitted from Chihara-kai.
