This Love Doesn’t Have Long Beans (Thai BL) – Episode 7 Recap & Review

The Secret

Episode 7 of This Love Doesn’t Have Long Beans picks up where we left off, with Kluea almost kissing a sleeping Plawan. They are interrupted by Chef Oab. who insists on carrying Plawan home. Kluea is saddened as he watches Oab take Plawan home. It turns out that Plawan was not even drunk or sleepy. He was pretending to avoid hearing Kluea’s confession.

Before heading home, Oab asks Plawan if he has feelings for Kluea. Plawan denies this and adds that he is waiting for Oab, but only if he is done with Khaosuay. After hearing this, the handsome chef confesses his feelings and takes his man home. He makes Plawan a snack and they end up making love in the kitchen. Meanwhile, Kluea nurses his heartbroken heart and cries on his bed.

The next morning, our happy couple wakes up feeling refreshed. Oab notifies Plawan that he will meet with Khaosuay later that day and set things straight between them. Of course, Plawan is happy to have some reassurance but also stressed because of his little secret. Oab meets with Khaosuay and explains that he can only be there for her as a brother. He has moved on with Plawan and even though it is a tearful goodbye, Khaosuay accepts the end of their romantic relationship.

Elsewhere, JJ continues playing a dangerous game of denying his feelings for Methas. Unfortunately for him, Methas keeps flirting with him. After one too many close calls, JJ runs from Methas’ house. He asks Methas to consider dropping the plans to get Oab’s restaurant if he wants them to date.

Back at the restaurant, the three contestants have another battle. This time, Pansip loses after making a mistake. Oab sends him home after encouraging him. Kluea and Plawan are sad to lose another friend, but Plawan starts feeling even more guilty. He knows Pansip is a more skilled chef and if he didn’t make the mistake, he would have won.

At the same time, Kluea questions if Oab will be unbiased in his decision since he is dating Plawan. Palawan assures him that they will never let their relationship affect the competition. He also apologises and clarifies that he didn’t mean to hurt Kluea. As for Oab, he talks to Nuebnueng about Kluea. His best friend advises him to clear the air with Kluea since the young chef has always been loyal to him.

As the days go by, Plawan decides to lose the competition on purpose and take a loan to pay back Methas. He continues his relationship with Oab, intentionally neglecting to tell him about the deal with Methas. Things almost come to a head when Methas drops by the restaurant to mock Oab. Thankfully, he doesn’t reveal that Plawan is his spy. Plawan later calls JJ and asks him to talk to Methas. Unfortunately, Kluea overhears the call and records the conversation.

On the other hand, JJ pulled further away from Methas. He asks Methas to consider abandoning his plans with Oab’s restaurant if he wants to date him.

Later that night, Kluea shows the recording to Oab. For whatever reason, maybe faith in Plawan, Oab doesn’t confront him. The next day, the two upcoming chefs prepare to take the final battle. Plawan is excited since he made up his mind to lose. He is surprised that Oab seems cold, but ignores it. However, Kluea challenges Oab by cooking a dish with long beans. The episode ends with a cliffhanger, with Oab getting ready to grade the dishes.

The Episode Review

I expected Oab to lose it after learning about Methas and Plawan’s deal. It seems like Oab still believes in Plawan and hopes he will make the right decision. However, based on the trailer, things will take a drastic turn next week. It will be full of angst and tears.

At the same time, JJ is leveraging Methas’ feelings for him to save his best friend and Oab’s restaurant. That is a big ask and it will be interesting to see if Methas will agree to this. He has to choose between JJ and one of his investments. All his life, Methas has only focused on his business. JJ was a curveball he never saw coming but will he choose love or money and power?
