The second season of The Tower is based on the novel Death Message, although the plot do certainly differ. Here, the second season focuses on Tania Mills’ disappearance the morning after the Great Storm in 1987. The series frames the disappearance on the day of Princess Diana’s funeral, which occurred on 6th September 1997.
For this reason, Sarah has quite a personal connection to the missing girl, as she would’ve been a similar age at the time. In her new job in Homicide Command, Sarah is handed this cold case, which she sees as an impossible challenge. However, Sarah quickly uncovers new leads and clues previous investigations had overlooked, working tirelessly to solve this once and for all.

Where Can I Watch The Tower?
The Tower is available to watch on ITV1 and to stream on ITVX in the UK. This is an exclusive ITV original, although it’s worth noting that this one dropped on BritBox ahead of its cable debut back in May. If you can’t wait to watch this one, that’ll be your best bet!
The Tower Season 2 Release Date
The Tower Season 2 will begin on Monday 28th August at 9pm (GMT). It will then air every night at the same time for four consecutive nights until Thursday. If you miss the episode though, it will then be shown on ITVX, as well as continuing to be available on BritBox too.
The Tower will not drop with subtitles on ITV1 but will have them on BritBox and ITVX after release. Each episode has a run-time of roughly 45 minutes long, which is consistent with the time-frame for the rest of the series.
