The Swarm Season 1 Episode 4 Preview: Release Date, Time & Where To Watch

The Swarm Season 1 Episode 4

The Swarm is a new show making its debut on The CW. The German show is one of the most expensive television productions to come out of the country and is based on Frank Schätzing’s novel of the same name. The Swarm had earlier debuted on ZDF back in February of this year. Owing to the writers’ and actors’ strikes, a lot of networks are going for releases of existing productions.

The Swarm promises to be an exciting sci-fi adventure series that is centred around “the struggle of humankind against an unknown swarm intelligence that lives in the depths of the sea.” We will be covering the entire series with recaps and ending explainers for each episode as they are released.

Here is everything you need to know about The Swarm Season 1 Episode 4, including its release date, time and where you can watch this.

Where Can I Watch The Swarm?

For our American readers, The Swarm will be available to watch on The CW and also the CW mobile app. The show is already available to stream for audiences outside the US on various platforms such as ZDF and Prime Video.

The Swarm Season 1 Episode 4 Release Date

The Swarm Season 1 Episode 4 will be released on Tuesday, October 3, at 9 pm ET/PT. Expect the runtime to be around 45 minutes for this episode. You will be able to watch the new episode of The Swarm with subtitles. The episodes in Season 1 do not have specific episode titles.

How Many Episodes Will The Swarm Have?

The Swarm’s first season will run for a total of 8 episodes. So, after episode 4, we will have another 4 episodes to go that will follow a weekly release schedule, subject to any changes The CW might make in between. This will mark the mid-season point which might turn out to be pivotal for the direction of the story. We do not expect there to be any major scheduling interruptions.

What happened in Episode 3?

Episode 3 of The Swarm continues to throw surprises at us from deep within the ocean. This time, the strange oceanic events are led by the waters of Venice Italy being filled with swimming jellyfish. No one has any clue why and how they got there. Charlie and Rahim receive the news of Juno’s sinking. Lehmann has ordered a mission to get footage of the sunken ship. Meanwhile, Sigur and Sato, Mifune’s trusted advisor, meet to exchange information.

Sigur hands over the spotting of the ice worms which might be of interest to Mifune, who has many shipping interests across the Atlantic. Sato promises to give him something similar in return if the information turns out to be helpful.

Leon works with Dr. Oliveira from the Institute to figure out the violent actions of the whales. He performs a post-mortem on the washed-up orca at the beach.

Sigur and Tina reignite old sparks as they share the night together in a hotel. He recognizes that all the attacks and strange phenomena have taken place in and around the migration route of the whales. He dives and attaches a camera to the back of a whale sleeping with its pod. Sigur learns from Sato that the ice worms have been spotted elsewhere as well, heightening his concerns. What breaks his heart is that Tina might have potentially lied to him about Hovestad’s exploration mission, which is more widespread than they have revealed.

The episode ends with the first glimpse of “the swarm” as the pod of whales is seen swimming to it in the depths of the ocean. Juno, the ship that Jess and Tomas were on, might have also been affected by their actions.
