Season 1 Ending Explained
The Surrogacy is a 24-episode Mexican drama on Netflix that follows Yeni, a young girl who turns into a surrogate for a young married couple from a wealthy family in order to get her dad out of jail. She has been treated with affection and tenderness throughout her pregnancy, but once she gives birth, their attitude abruptly changes.
When Yeni finds herself on a bench someplace, she discovers that the family has abandoned her with the child. Additionally, she is forced into a world of deception and lies as she seeks the truth.
The Netflix Mexican show, The Surrogacy addresses issues like parenting, deception, and the hunt for the truth. The show also reveals a number of shocking details and unexpected findings that cast doubt on accepted practices, giving viewers a glimpse into the muddy and complex aspect of surrogacy.
The alarming themes are heightened by the distinctive undertone that accompanies the visuals. Additionally, the shifting backgrounds keep things lively and engaging.
The characters in the drama are one-dimensional and they rarely step up to resist manipulation or defend themselves. While Fernanda serves as the furious yet incompetent woman, Julia is limited to the stereotype of the reckless woman. On the other hand, Carlos, the attractive and cunning man, and his mom are the undisputed winners, though we all know that she will eventually lose.
The clinical trial plot is another major weakness of The Surrogacy. The characters additionally behave so foolishly in that regard, which proves to be one of the main causes of the mayhem that follows. Such a convoluted plot is unnecessary, and if it was to continue, it needed a less erratic execution.
Despite having 24 episodes, The Surrogacy has a short story. To make matters worse, the narrative isn’t even broken up into sections to give it some coherence. This show is a lot like Hindi TV serials, wherein straightforward stories are irritatingly complex owing to the tangled plots.
Furthermore, the characters lack basic communication skills and don’t even converse with each other. All of them are simply screaming, making accusations, or fleeing because of the situation. The series, which debuted under the name ‘Madre de Alquiler’, has a skilled cast, though. Actors like Shan, Luis Ernesto Franco, Leticia Calderón, Marcela Guirado, Camila Selser and Alejandro de la Madrid excel in their respective roles.
The show had potential as it could’ve conveyed a message while also being enjoyable if it had been more precise with its subject matter. Furthermore, in order to make the characters interesting, they need to have some depth. The drama series is ultimately very difficult to enjoy. If it had been shorter or released with two parts, we might have thought differently. However, this isn’t worth watching.

Why do the actors not actually speak they mime it instead & it’s so obvious as well but apart from that it’s a program
Horroble, with no sense at all. Poorly researchered. Identical twins always have the same sex, so they shoud know directly….
Yo la vi completa y me gusto muchísimo al principio si comenzó un poco lenta pero después no me podía despegar de la televisión….muy buena, muchas Gracias a todos los participantes.
Great serie, highly recommend
Leticia Calderon was outstanding in her performance as “Nora”.
The same with the other actors and their interpretations. I can not wait to see the new season.

I highly recommend this show.
I can’t wait for the next season.
I can’t believe I wasted my time on this. I did not realize that it was a series until way too late. I figured it would be just a few episodes. It has dragged on and on and on and on. It is so awful. The plot line and characters make no sense to me. I could not understand the convoluted mess that was going on. It just is unfathomable to me how truly bad this was. I would not recommend it to anyone. Not only that, I don’t even know why it’s on TV. It should have just been taken out and burned.
Yeni and Carlos are selfish despicable characters. Julia is expected to stay with Carlos even though he tells her he’s in love with the surrogate and is sleeping with her. American soap operas are written better than this mess. Not worth watching
